Quin

The only Quin show of this year and quite possible the last Smallhouse show is happening tomorrow at PG.
We'll have a handful of copies of the full lp on tape available too, so grab those cuz that's the only way it's being released for the time being.

I just downloaded the mastered tracks that are the Quin album called Smallhouse. I'm about to listen to it, and to say the least, I'm excited. In moments like this, thoughts run around and you think about what led to this, this piece of work.
Thank you Brett, for doing this basically last minute album recording session almost a year ago, and making something happen that might not have happened at all had it not been done right then and there.
This band was started 10 years ago.. a lot could be said, but each time I type some s**t I end up erasing it because I really don't know where I'm going with this. Basically, I love everyone and can't wait to share this music with anyone who cares to listen. It felt like it would never happen, us documenting what we were doing (making a record of the songs we had written.) After being a band for so long, you wonder what could happen next. So many shows and just so much life passing in a decade. We're all different people now. So many people have been in this band. People I know and love, people I don't know anymore, people I wish I still knew and have all the love I ever had for them.. but that's just kinda life in general.
I'm in Texas now, playing with Vetter Kids and my band Drug Head. I adapted easily, music keeps me busy/sane. I'd update you on the works of everyone else, but I'm sure everyone already knows about Stella, Zoom, Thunder/Dreamer, etc. (No need to preach to the choir about how good my friend's bands are.) Everyone seems to be doing well, creating beautiful things and being inspirations to everyone around them as always. For Quin, right now is a quiet time, which happens. I say we've been a band for a decade, but there were some times where we weren't active or whatever. But, the time passed all the same, with or without us. At the moment, we're planning the next move, what to do with the lp/when we can play some shows/how we can make all of this happen. We'll have some info soon on all of that. (I say soon, but you know.. in the long run soon, maybe not like 'soon' soon.. whatever that means.)
Anyway, It's late and I need to shut up now. I'll have more info on the lp soon, in the form of a much shorter/less feelsy post, maybe even with a track on the web somehow for y'all to hear.

June 4th we're going to play at PG. That'll be our last show for a couple of months.
We recorded an 8 song lp this week. Finishing touches are being done tonight. (We're way into how it sounds already.)

We're playing with some doap touring bands tonight at PG. We've got spme new grooves as well, so don't mis a rad show nerds!
