“Last week, I presented SB126, Early Literacy and Dyslexia Practices, which would require the Maryland State Department of Education to create a stakeholder advisory group, including educators and members of the dyslexia advocacy community, to collaborate on the creation of a Reading and Dyslexia Handbook.

This would provide a powerful, evidence-based resource for parents, teachers, and local school systems to help children with dyslexia and reading difficulties succeed throughout their educational careers. Thank you Delegate Eric Ebersole for leading this effort in the House, and to the Maryland Psychological Association, Maryland School Psychologists' Association, and Decoding Dyslexia MD for their advocacy and support.
