Saudi stuff arriving in J'burg next week so this should be interesting! Need a big house, away from it all because the South African like peace and quiet on a weekends! S**t, I'll be popular with the neighbours, and the wife for that matter! Searching for a nice guitar at the moment! May go for a knackered old Fender just to introduce me to the locals! LOL. Electrified fences are a great help when you play punk bass!
The Etiquette are about to start to thump the boards again, though this time in South Africa! We tip toe'd in Saudi Arabia with a couple of members actually ending up in prison for a day or 2 for playing "Devil Music". We were actually playing SOLIDARITY by the Angelic Upstarts! Jesus, music can be so powerfull. SOLIDARITY is an ANTHEM. The lyrics can be adjusted to any political OR religious context. Have a listen! Please! Next up Johannesburg, and once we get over the reception that we'll no doubt receive, great! Another arrest!
In the short time that VE were in existence, they managed to raise a few local eyebrows! They also generated a few complaints, a few laughs and surprises. We learned a lot about music, the business, and most of all ourselves! VE were never meant to stay on the scene very long!! We proved that if there's a will, there's dfinitely a way! We showed that you can be great, even if your not that good!!
RIP for the time being VE! No doubt that VE will be back in some rediculous form! BUt in the meantime, Rimfold are an excellent band and well worth parting with a few hard earned (or otherwise) gold pieces to see! Push the bounderies of acceptability, stay off the radar of mediocrity and the local constabulary, All the very best! Kev
Since Kev's departure the rest of the band have done a lot of thinking
and decided that it just wouldn't be The Etiquette without him. So we
shall be moving on under a different name: Rimfold .
All that remains is to thank Kev for being instrumental (pun intended)
in dragging us all together, and for the fun we've had as Vile
Etiquette.

Okay, so we didn't let you know. Shame on us. Last night we played VE's final enagagement, at the Strutt Arms. Thanks to everyone who came along to enjoy the spooky fun, and once again to Nicole Harrison (landlady supreme) for putting up with us.

With more farewell performances than an 80s supergroup, it appears you can't keep a good band down. As well as the do at Nealies this weekend (do come along - it's for a good cause) there may be one or two other appearances before the final shake-up and re-structuring. We'll let you know - obviously.

It now transpires that our bassist is on permanent leave out in Saudi and VE will continue with another 4 stringer. I wish all the band the best, and loads of future success. The ride was great... Keep abusing the Etiquette! Kev!
Sadly, the band have decided, due ongoing dynamics and differences, to go call it a day in their present form. The guy's will however pursue different projects and VE will continue in a new format, sometime in the near future. In a short but explosive existence, they accomplished quite a lot! All would agree, that it was fun most of the time, annoying some of the time, and amazing all of the time! Watch this space!
I'd just like to say a big thanks to Dougie & Hazel at the MSC! They have given the band such support over the last few months and club has been our home! Feedback form the gig last night was great and we're a cookin little unit now!
Everyone is cordially invited to the lasy Vile Etiquette gig for a while at the Milford Club! Dig out your dancing shoes and ear defenders and head on over for a great night tonight! The place will be jumping from around 8:30 so get there early!
What a night at the Strutt last night!! The crowd were a great bunch! We hammered out our usual brand of breakneck Indie stuff and it was fanatically received! The new numbers (Placebo & others) went down a storm. We encored with Blink and we could have played all night! We just love the buzz and the feedback from the crowd was awesome! The Strutt Rocks! Vile Etiquette Rock! Thanks to all who turned up!!
