Bickel Creative Services
Graphic Design and Marketing
Recent work โ created for a variety of Government and Non- Profit organizations.
Projects always get more colorful as the weather warms up. ๐๐
I haven't posted on here in awhile so I thought I'd share some of my favorite projects from the last three or so months.
This past summer, the Village of Wellington was transformed into a 1980s movie set. โWhite Noiseโ is a film adapted from the 1985 novel by Don DeLillo and features actors Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig. Main Street Wellington hired BCS to create an 80s-style 2022 calendar from set photos taken by Sherry and Louie Hanmore. Calendars are on sale at Main Street Wellington.
2022โs PANTONE color of the year โ periwinkle. Very cheerful.
Groovy
Grab this new printed map, created for Main Street Wellington, Inc. by Bickel Creative, at the MSW offices or around town at Wellington businesses. The map shows businesses in and around the Village of Wellington. ๐บ
A new, fun, summer project. Window Poster for upcoming Second Saturdays in Oberlin. Created for OBP Positively Oberlin.
Have a look at the new website! I'll be adding a lot more recent work to it in the near future. ๐ www.bickelcreative.com
๐ผ๐ผ A nod to spring and a look back to the days of Visit Lorain County... This time of year VLC used to bring out over 100k new Visitors Guides. They were distributed all along the Ohio Turnpike; the Penna Turnpike; Indiana Turnpike and at Ohio rest stops on I71 and 77. They were also racked all over the region and mailed out to people that indicated an interest in visiting. This 64-page guide was the last one I did for the organization. ๐ผ๐ผ
Wrapping up the holiday season with a look back on a few holiday projects from Bickel Creative Services. Happy New Year, everyone!
Color(s) of the year for 2021. Yellow and Gray. ๐๐ง I like it. What do you think?
Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope.
We need to feel encouraged and uplifted, this is essential to the human spirit.

Oberlin Community Magazine. This 52-page magazine layout and design kept me busy during the early "lock-down" months. It will be mailed out to all Oberlin households in the coming days. It features the art, music, history and recreation options in Oberlin. In the future, you will also be able to pick up at Oberlin Business Partnership.
Sign of our times... A recent project for the local Main Street organizations who are providing businesses with reopening resources. This is a label that will be placed onto kits containing cleaning items, masks, sanitizer etc. The labels utilize the universal symbols for "reset" and "start."
I love Steve's work. As I scrolled through the art in this exhibition I realized just how much I miss local talent of all kinds... art, music and food. And the humor (which I also consider an art) of all my family and friends. I'm really looking forward to the inspiration and joy this period of reflection brings. โค๏ธ Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA) Steve Schreiber Fine Art
Keeping art alive....
Open Call for Artists: We're accepting submissions of current works in progress, completed works from canceled exhibitions, and new works completed during the shelter in place order. All mediums are accepted. This online exhibition is open to Ohio art students, emerging artists and professionals. Deadline for submission is May 27, 2020.
I developed this branding and event template for CoWork Oberlin's Lunch & Learn series. CoWork Oberlin and Oberlin Business Partnership are such valuable resources for small businesses and the self-employed right now. Having a local organization that is in constant contact with small businesses really helps us feel like we aren't being forgotten when navigating on a national level.
I'm sure it works for adults too. ๐
Illustrator gives free drawing lessons to inspire kids stuck at home And the results are delightful.
A fun project I did using a retro/noir style. The murder mystery dinner theater event was sold out and was great fun. ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ
One more week until we turn the clocks forward! Spring is right around the corner. ๐๐ท
โ๏ธโ๏ธWishing you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Season's Greetings! โ๏ธโ๏ธ
This card was one of several holiday cards I created for RRHOF that combined lyrics and artifacts. It was titled "Love Train," all built out of items like album covers, instruments, posters, records and clothing.
Visitors Guide/Map for Oberlin, a city that thrives on art, music and history.
Pantone's Color of the Year for 2020 pairs well with Living Coral, this year's color.
PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, the Pantone Color of the Year 2020. A timeless and enduring blue hue, timeless in its simplicity.
Another FAVA project, just off the press...
Having all these posters lined up side by side gives a real "ah-ha" moment. It might be time to move away from this trend. https://www.creativebloq.com/news/movie-poster-trend
Is this the defining movie poster trend of the decade? We spell it out.
This character map of The Who's film, Tommy: The Amazing Journey was one of the most interesting projects I did during my time at RRHOF+M. It appeared as part of the Tommy exhibit.
Graphic Design โข Social Media โข Project Management
Iโm an award-winning graphic designer with a wide range of skills and experience focusing on program creation, graphic design, social media and project management. My background has focused on non-profit, museum, music and tourism design and marketing. But Iโve also assisted clients in other varied fields such as aerospace, grocery, product marketing, education and the services industry.
Before starting my own business in 2016 I spent five years as the Graphic Design Manager for OAI, The Ohio Aerospace Institute (a non-profit consortium started by NASA for collaboration among universities, industry and government). Following that I was the Graphic Design and Production Manager for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Here I produced museum graphics, signage and way-finding, collateral materials, posters, concert graphics, and web graphics. I also produced advertising in multiple formats including billboard, web, newspaper and magazine including for Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and InStyle. Following that, I became the Executive Director for Visit Lorain County where I created and led multiple award winning programs and design materials.
