June 19 was a while ago, but we put finishing touches on more projects.
Volunteer made jewelry was put into eggs making 2 gifts out of one.
We made more lacing cards & sorted the jewelry by age & gender.
Our next Make-it to Pack-it workshop will be Aug 21 @ 6:00. We will be practicing our assembly line work by packing school kits.

Praise God for this quick response, well trained, volunteer ministry & the many veterans who are still serving.

Thank you ladies for the productive May Make-it to Take-it session. We capped all the pencils, put stickers on our pictures & toothbrushes in cases.
Quick & easy, plus it left us plenty of time to brainstorm. I learned about Thrivent grants, possibly for shipping expenses, school supplies, soccer balls or tool kits. Contact your rep. for more details.

There’s been a few about rest lately. I do need His rest. How about you??

Before Princess heard the Good News of Jesus, she always worried about food, safety, and her parents who left for the city in hopes of securing a better life for their family.

But these days she doesn’t worry as much. Princess heard the Gospel during an outreach event, received a shoebox gift, and attended The Greatest Journey discipleship program. After learning about God’s love for her, she is less afraid because she knows Jesus is with her always. ❤

“I am very happy because now I have Jesus as a friend, but He is also my Savior. I can trust Him at all times.” – Rosa, a recent graduate of The Greatest Journey 🎓

After receiving a gift-filled shoebox at an outreach event in Bolivia, Rosa became extremely curious as to why someone she didn’t know would give her a gift. This curiosity grew as she attended The Greatest Journey discipleship program and learned more about who God is. At graduation, Rosa received her first-ever New Testament Bible. Now, her entire family can read about Jesus! ❤

What a great God we serve.

When a lingering illness left Ian unable to walk, his friends 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒅 him to an outreach event at their church in Kenya. ❤

At the event, Ian heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was prayed for. He then received a shoebox gift with a ball inside—sparking his faith that God would heal him!

Since then, Ian's health has improved greatly! He is now able to walk and play with his friends, carrying the ball that he received with him wherever he goes.

Ian learned more about Jesus through The Greatest Journey discipleship classes, and soon placed his faith in Jesus! 𝑯𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚. 🙌

Thank you Team Zion!! We had such a good time last month at our Make It to Pack It workshop.
I can’t wait for your help again on May 22 at 6:00 in the home-ec room. We’ll put erasers on pencils, fill tic-tac-toe bags, stick letter labels & stickers on our photos & learn how to make T-shirt jump ropes. (Bring some old colorful t-shirt with no side seams & a pair of scissors).
Don’t forget your creations & finds for Show & Tell - it’s always an inspiration for me.

I’m zooming in. I don’t want to miss any of their fabulous training or latest updates.

Team Zion! You are going to love our Make It - To Pack It workshop on April 10. Some of the materials we will be creating with are: yarn, sharpies, jingle bells, pipe cleaners, tongue depressors, 3” styrofoam balls, marbles, bingo dabbers, Easter eggs, ribbon, beads, googlie eyes …
You can bring your own, use ours and even donate from your stash at home.

Looking forward to a fun evening of creating & visiting.

Don’t forget, we always start with Show & Tell of what everyone has been doing at home since our last get together.

Bring a friend, family member or meet a new friend there.

It is so exciting how many generations are touched by one simple Shoebox.

As children make their way to local outreach events, many parents stay nearby to observe what is about to take place. In addition to songs, shoebox gifts, and lots of laughter, each event contains a clear Gospel presentation.

Here, as their children rifled through their shoebox gifts, these mothers were still fascinated with The Greatest Gift booklet that shares the message of salvation. We praise God for the many hearts that are reached at outreach events across the world. 🙌

Hey Team Zion!!

Here is another project to think about. Our 2-4 Girl boxes could use a small blanket for their babydoll. We have closets of lightweight fabric if you would like to use some, let me know.

Also, we need heavyweight fabric for backpacks. If you have bundles, our seamstresses are making beautiful backpacks. You can leave you bundles in the Shoebox box on the credenza.

Thank you Team Zion crafters. The mild winter sure got you sewing & crocheting. Thank you so much for all the back packs & wash cloths you made already.

Our first working craft session will be April 10 at 6:00 pm. We start the meeting with a quick Show & Tell of what you created, so bring a couple of finished items to the meeting.

Some of the make-it & pack-it crafts of the evening will be perfect to do with grandchildren or children, and for teens, so bring them along, too.

Until then, we have a few more ideas we found for you creative people that we think would be exciting in our Shoeboxes.

Let me know if you would like to try making some of these, or if you have other ideas.

The people of Zion have been very generous cleaning out their craft rooms of yarn, buttons, & fabric, so let me know if you need sewing supplies. We still appreciate any beading supplies (especially pony beads) that you want to empty from your craft area.

I just got a call that Thursday & Friday shifts are cancelled for next week. I’m so looking forward to experiencing this leg of a Shoebox journey.
Silver lining is that if you are considering joining me, the week just got a lot shorter.

While in Charlotte, NC we made a surprise stop at the Samaritan's Purse Processing Center. What a treat for us as we work our way through visiting ALL of them. Nest week - Aurora Illinois to pack On-line Shoeboxes. Please pray for safety, logistics and health as I go to learn more about this wonderful ministry. I am thrilled that Gospel Opportunity Shoeboxes go all over the world, but never thought of the many types of communities that open their doors.
