Last, but certainly not least in our team spotlight series is our Past Chair, Katsumi Kishida. Katsumi is the Director of International Student Services at Seton Hall University. Originally from Japan, it is now her favorite place to travel to. The Region X team thanks Katsumi for all of her work as Chair and looks forward to continuing to work with her!

Next up in our team spotlight series is our Academy Coach, Omobonike Odegbami. Bonike is the Director of International Student Services at Hamilton College. A fun fact about Bonike is that she is a shoe ju**ie! 👠

Next up in our spotlight series is our Business Manager, Catherine Collado. Catherine currently serves as the Head of Operations at Academic Experiences Abroad.

Last for our Knowledge Community Liaisons is Ruth Kamona. Ruth currently serves as University Director, International Student and Scholar Services at The City University of New York (CUNY) and is the TLS KC Liaison for Region X.

Today’s team spotlight series is Patricia Gibson, the Director of the Office of International Students and Scholars at Teachers College, Columbia University. Patricia serves as the IEL KC Liaison for Region X.

Call for Proposals (CFP) is now OPEN for our upcoming Region X conference in Atlantic City, NJ! The conference theme is All in for Region X!

The deadline for proposal submission will be in early June. Your contributions are critical! Sharing your knowledge and expertise helps to advance the field of international education, and support the professional growth of colleagues across the region.

Next up in our team spotlight series is Jamilah Moudiab. Jamilah is the Director of International Student Services at Felician university in New Jersey and serves as the IEM KC Liaison, Region X.

Next up for our team spotlight series is Malikka Hutchins, the EA KC Liaison for Region X. Malikka is a Senior Program Coordinator in the Office of Global initiatives and Experiential Learning at Rutgers University. Her favorite part of her role is seeing how studying abroad positively impacts students who have never traveled abroad before and advocating for underrepresented study abroad students! 🌍

Next we will introduce our Knowledge Community Liaisons! First up is Marieta Chemishanova who is the ISSS KC Liaison for Region X. Marieta currently serves as the Executive Director in the Office of Global Initiatives at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Serving as our Two-Year Institution Representative is Gavin Ireland. Gavin is the Director of Recruitment and International Student Affairs at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.

Next up in our team spotlight series is our Downstate NY Representative, Megumi Tan. Megumi is the Associate Director for the Office of Global Services at New York University. A fun fact about Megumi is that her name means “blessed”.
