Because we can all get caught up in stories. In the fears. The old habits of thinking. The old ways of being. People pleasing galoreeee. Paralyzed by perfectionism. Anxiety filled. Waiting for the next shoe to drop. Hiding.
AND
The women I work with choose a different way.
A different way energetically.
A different way of living their lives.
A different way of embodying their truest power and depth.
A different way of creating their art in the world.

This weekend was the 7th yoga festival I’ve gone to + my first time teaching at one!
I always find it powerful to revisit the same place one year later because it gives me such a visceral connection to time + space. I can really feel what has changed and shifted each year.
It’s been such a journey in allowance of processing anxiety, grief, and heartbreak that led me on this path of finding a connection to my body and the breath.
Every day I continue to shed fears + limitations so that I can feel a stronger connection to who I really am without illusion.
Losing my dad 8 years ago was the catalyst for my spiritual evolution and although that really sucked and was not a fun time in the slightest lol - yoga festivals is one thing that has allowed me to continually transform and evolve year over year. Continually bringing me back to myself 🧡
Every year I walk away with something new 🙏
If you were my neighbor in class this weekend, came to our class on Friday, or stopped by the booth on Saturday - you made my day! And I am so thankful our paths have crossed 🫶

I love breathwork and I love sharing this modality in the world to help people feel relief from the ebbs and flows of life. It helps to be more calm, clear, creative, present and more. 🌞

To be honest...
When I first started working with my anxiety I knew nothing about somatic healing.
My personal experiences were in traditional CBT therapy and my professional ones were in psychology, social work, and international education (All of which I also love 🧡)
Even the subtle mention of nervous system regulation and inner child healing left me in a 30-minute google search of curiosity
*cue: anxiety*
✨ Nervous System Regulation: The process of maintaining a balanced and stable state
✨ The Four Trauma Responses: Freeze, Fight, Flight, and Fawn
✨ Somatic Healing: A holistic approach that focuses on the connection between the mind and body
✨ Somatic Breathwork: Conscious active breathing used to enhance self-awareness, release tension, and promote healing
✨ Parts Work: Understanding the various “parts” of yourself, what their needs are, and how to integrate them as part of your whole self
✨ Emotional Capacity: The ability to recognize, feel, and express emotions in a healthy way to enhance emotional resilience
✨ Inner Child Healing: Processing and addressing emotional wounds from childhood, with the intention of nurturing and reconnecting with your inner child

Month 1️⃣ Establish a Mindfulness Practice
🪴 Start by developing a level of self-awareness and connection to your truest self
🪴 What are your personal values? What do you love to do? What lights you up? How busy is your mind? Whats the connection like to your body?
🪴 Discover what your relationship is to self-doubt and anxiety
🪴 When possible, begin to name your emotions
🪴 Establish a daily practice that contributes to feeling more safe in your body and connected to your soul
Month 2️⃣ Focus on Your Nervous System
🪴 What is your relationship to your body and nervous system response? Are you aware of the window of tolerance?
🪴 What causes you to move into freeze, fawn, fight, or flight? What triggers you?
🪴 Practice meditation, breathwork, self-soothing, and finding an internal baseline for self-regulation
🪴 Know that there is nothing “wrong” about your experience
🪴 Stay curious
Month 3️⃣ Befriend Your Anxiety
🪴 Bring awareness to where anxiety currently lives in your body.
🪴 What does it feel like? How long has it been there? Can you add texture?
🪴 Connect with your inner child
🪴 Dive into self-compassion practices
🪴 Bring awareness to old beliefs that are no longer serving you
🪴 Shift old beliefs into new empowering ones
