NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Caleb Roark is at BMS today with the Corrie Stott Racing team ( #23) watching the NASCAR Nationwide race with guests Tim Smith and son, of the Discovery Channel TV Series "Moonshiners".
We knew when the qualifying lap was completed that it probably wasn't going to make it in the show unless some weird things happened to others trying to qualify. As you know, at Daytona it can all come down to a wind gust or a change in wind direction. Caleb held a good line and he ran that lap flat out. Couldn't ask for more from the driver.
Team owner Mike Mittler is happy with Caleb's performance this week and says that he is looking forward to doing some more races together this season. Carl Edwards and Jamie McMurray, who have both been tremendously helpful to Caleb this week, both said they are looking forward to Caleb's next event in the MB Motorsports #63. Carl's mom told Caleb yesterday that she has adopted Caleb.
It was a good week for Caleb ..... a lot of good friends made .... a lot of good experience gained .... plus, the team owner and the crew said that they want Caleb in the truck for some more races. We didn't make the "big show", but all is well. We move on to Martinsville.
Best of luck to another of our local racers, John King III, as he makes his debut in the RedHorse Racing #7 Toyoya Tundra this evening. John has run well all week, had a great qualifying run, and we wish him the best tonight.

MB Motorsports Returns For Caleb Roarks Maiden Voyage At Daytona
MB Motorsports, one of the original NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ teams, is set to return to Daytona International Speedway for the first time in four years. 19 year old Abingdon, VA native Caleb Roark will pilot the #63 Mittler Bros. Machine & Tool Ford F-150 in his maiden voyage at the world famous superspeedway.
Even though Roark hasn’t even turned 20 yet, he has over 13 years experience on the track, having raced since about 6 years of age in various series, including Go Karts, Champ Karts, Pure4, Mod4, Limited Late Model, Late Model, ISCARS Dash Touring and NCWTS. Last season Roark competed in three NCWTS races, completing 98.1% of his laps, improving on his start each time, while scoring a best finish of 19th at Martinsville.
“I’m very lucky to have the opportunity to go to Daytona with Mike Mittler’s MB Motorsports crew,” says Roark. “He has such an amazing record for working with young drivers and to be able to add my name to that list is unbelievable to me. Jason Miller, who I’ve been working with for a long time, will also be there to help guide me through this initial trip to Daytona.”
Mittler is confident in his young driver. Caleb's got a lot of talent. Every race is a learning experience, no matter how long you’ve been driving, but I feel confident Caleb will do us all proud Friday night in Daytona.

MIKE MITTLER’S THOUGHTS ON THE NEXTERA ENERGY RESOURCES 250 AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SUPERSPEEDWAY: “You never know what you’re getting into when you race at a superspeedway, other than the odds are going to be stacked against you even more than they normally are. You know going into it that there’s probably going to be a big wreck and whether you’re out front or in the back of the pack, you can get caught up in it. And since you don’t know when the big one is going to happen, the importance of every pit call is magnified. In the end, all you can do is put forth your best effort, race as smart as you can and accept the fact that some days it’s better to be lucky than good. That said, after all of the effort that has been put into this truck, I’m expecting good things for Caleb and our team’s Ford F-150.”
MIKE MITTLER'S THOUGHTS ON CALEB ROARK: "Caleb is a great prospect. Only 19, he has shown an ability beyond his years. We watched him have some great runs last season and were impressed with how he took care of the equipment, didn't over-drive the truck and earned the respect of the other drivers. We are expecting good things from Caleb."
CALEB ROARK'S THOUGHTS ON THE NEXTERA ENERGY RESOURCES 250 AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SUPERSPEEDWAY: "Driving at Daytona is something I have always dreamed of. To be able to make my first start there in Mike Mittler's truck, knowing who has driven for him in the past, is amazing to me. I just want to have a good, clean practice, qualify well and be there when the checkered flag flies Friday night."

Caleb Roark to drive for MB Motorsports at Daytona
Abingdon, VA: Until last week, 19-year-old Abingdon, Virginia, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Caleb Roark expected to make his first start of the 2012 season in the March 31 event at Martinsville Speedway. Roark will still drive the family owned Jeff Roark Motorsports entry at Martinsville, but last week he and his dad Jeff received one... of those phone calls which drivers dream of receiving. Veteran NCWTS owner Mike Mittler, owner of MB Motorsports, based in Wright City, Missouri, called to say that he would like for Caleb to drive the MB Motorsports Ford entry at Daytona, and other selected events on the 2012 schedule.
MB Motorsports has been part of the NCWTS since the 1995 inaugural season of the series, and has gained quite a reputation for bringing young and talented drivers into NASCAR racing. Several notable drivers who started their career with MB Motorsports went on to successful NASACR Nationwide and NASCAR Sprint Cup careers got their first NASCAR ride in an MB Motorsports Truck. This notable list includes the late Kenny Irwin Jr., 1998 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year; the late Tony Roper; 2003 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year, Jamie McMurray; 2003 NCWTS Rookie of the Year Carl Edwards, 2008 ARCA Champion Justin Allgaier, 2010 Nationwide Champion Brad Keselowski, and others.
In explaining how he feels about having Caleb driving his truck Mittler said, "I watched Caleb at the three NCWTS events he competed in last season. I liked what I saw in him on the race track, and I liked how he conducted himself with other competitors, with NASCAR officials and with his sponsors. MB Motorsporst played an important part in the early careers of Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray and Brad Keselowski. I am excited about having Caleb driving our truck this season. I see a lot of the same qualities of Carl and Jamie and Brad in Caleb."
Roark, who has been working two to three days per week this winter at Corrie Stott Racing in Denver, NC, while also maintaining his studies at Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, is equally excited about the opportunity, "This is just unbelievable for me! A week ago we were planning to make our first 2012 start at Martinsville, and wishing we could go to Daytona. Now we are getting ready to head to Daytona in a couple of weeks to drive for MB Motorsports. To have the opportunity to work with and learn from the MB Motorsports team is just great. I feel very blessed and I am very thankful for this opportunity."

We wish for all race fans a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Jeff, Caleb and Jason were invited to a private party hosted by Roush Performance.
PRI Show 2011
This morning Jeff and Caleb are headed to the annual PRI Show in Orlando, Florida.
Good run by Caleb tonight! Another solid run. Caleb was running on the lead lap in 16th position just past the 2/3 mark of the event when he made what was to be his final pit stop of the race. As Caleb was leaving pit road, an enthusiastic dad/spotter was yelling "GO! GO! GO!"..... and Caleb did just as dad said. LOL Caleb got busted with a pit road speeding penalty which ended up putting him laps down and costing him about seven positions. Still, a really good run for Caleb tonight.
Jeff Roark Motorsports and driver Caleb Roark will be at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport this afternoon with the #07 BOBBER.info Chevrolet Silverado.
