A beautiful reminder to please stay hydrated 🌸

It is no surprise that water is a universal spiritual truth. Humans and earth are made mostly of water. Your baby lives and develops in nutritive water, providing a protective cushion, supporting fetal movement, and regulating temperature. Daily hydration is multifaceted to support a healthy pregnancy. Intentional preparation can help you achieve an average intake of 8-12 glasses daily. Your nutritive herbal teas count!
Infused waters: Mint & Cucumber, Watermelon & Mimosa (not recommended in pregnancy), Lemon Balm & Lemon 🍋

Update from Forgotten Felines of Maine mum about Timmy!

Timmy has had a rough day and tonight all he wants to do is be in momma’s lap. He is making air biscuits but beyond that he doesn’t have much energy.

Timmy was diagnosed with FIP today. Just broke my heart. 💔

After speaking with Timmy’s vet and the wonderful staff, getting advise from FoFF, receiving a few donations already made to help Timmy as well as doing a lot of soul searching, I decided to try and help Timmy. It’s always been my mission to help the cats who cross our path to the best of our ability. I must do that now for Timmy.

I am waiting to hear back from FIP Global Cats but did answer their questionnaire and send the required videos and photos to them. So now I will wait to hear what the next step is. Once I have a plan and costs I will start a GoFundMe but in the meantime the cost will be $3,000-$5,000 and treatment will be daily for at least 84 days…a big commitment. But this, as those of who know me, know I have faced more difficult challenges then this.

While I wait to hear from FIP Global Cats we would appreciate any donations you can send. I will do my very best for Timmy but I cannot do it alone. Please help. Timmy deserves this chance to live out his life healthy and happy. All my love and thank you for your prayers and support! ❤️

Sad post. About a sweet kitty. It will be hard for Forgotten Felines of Maine to decide the best course of treatment, which I am sorry to say point blankly, may include the decision that Timmy will cross the rainbow bridge so much sooner than anyone would want. FIP has symptoms that vary in individuals, sometimes the seizures are brutal. Sometimes there is simply a loss of balence that causes wobbles that the cat overcomes more easily. Many kitties live long beautiful lives with FIP. I am not an expert on the disease.

We all want Timmy to have a long beautiful life if he can. As with the work that Forgotten Felines of Maine and so many wonderful caring shelters, and resuces, and vets do; there is a cost for treatment and medicaions, and yes, this is me joining in to make a request for donations.

Please donate. Just a donation of whatever you can. Because there is not just Timmy, but so many other felines needing help.

Timmy got into the vet today earlier then expected. While he didn’t have a temperature last week he had one today…104.5. He did gain 3 ounces though. But after blood work was done it’s been decided Timmy has FIP. 😢 I am heartbroken. 💔

Treatment is thousands of dollars and while I could put this on my credit card I already put so much on my credit card. I think the only way we can help Timmy is if people can commit to helping with donations which is almost impossible for us anymore.

We are a very small rescue and have always done big things and everyone thought we were bigger then we were and had money. It simply has never been the case. I have just always been driven to help as many cats as I could.

I don’t know what to do and am waiting to hear back from FIP Global now that we have the bloodwork to show he has FIP. It’s going to be a very long night for me…researching and trying to decide what is the best option…🙏❤️

Happy Pink Moon!

🐸 HAPPY FULL PINK MOON! Typically in my region, the full moon in May carries the last chance of frost, but when the full Moon 🌝 arrives late in April, it frequently marks the same. Because spring can be fickle, there is also a long history of looking to botanical indicators like Shadbush (Amalanchier canadensis) and Dogwood blooming, and the time when oak leaves grow to the size of a mouses ear 🐭 to insure safe planting. This full moon can offer a safe time to plant cold tolerant greens and herbs like borage, calendula, fennel, spinach, lettuce, kale, collards etc.
And don't forget to get out tonight along with the peepers and celebrate the full Moon and the arrival of spring with a howl, a peep or a Moon dance around the fire!

Artist appears to be either Alec Monopoly or Claude Ponte. Thx everyone!

I worried a lot. Will the garden grow, will the rivers
flow in the right direction, will the earth turn
as it was taught, and if not how shall
I correct it?
Was I right, was I wrong, will I be forgiven,
can I do better?
Will I ever be able to sing, even the sparrows
can do it and I am, well,
hopeless.
Is my eyesight fading or am I just imagining it,
am I going to get rheumatism,
lockjaw, dementia?
Finally, I saw that worrying had come to nothing.
And gave it up. And took my old body
and went out into the morning,
and sang. ~Mary Oliver

Gertrude had an awful fear of snakes and would refuse to leave her house to carry out her saintly duties unless St Patrick accompanied her. Never seen out without St Patrick by her side, rumours began to spread about their relationship. When St Patrick asked for his paper and milk to be delivered to Gertrude's house, it soon became clear that the rumours were true. Asked what day she would like to be celebrated on, Gertrude immediately answered; "Same as me Paddy." According to the scriptures of The Green Rooster/Cusacks , that's how March 17th became both Patrick and Gertrudes day.

Selling the little camper... maybe... I change my mind sometimes... it would have to be the right person who would care for her...

She's an adorable little camper! Open concept yet very cozy. Two sitting areas, each with table, both areas convert to beds. Stove (burners & oven), mini fridge, sink (greywater tank included) Small potty in the bathroom and ability to add shower hook -up. Tall closet and many storage cubbies, two 10 # propane tanks. Everything works as far as we know, (it did take a trip up from the Maine coast recently, so things might have gotten joseled) She is 16' and tows very well... good tires, ready to go $4,500

I leave a saucer of milk out every year!

The Cat-Sìth is, perhaps, the most unusual fairy in all of Scottish folklore. The Cat-Sìth, found both in Scottish and Irish mythology, is said to be a fairy with the form of a large cat, often as large as a dog. The Cat-Sìth is black all over, apart from a white spot in its chest. Legend says that the large cat walks on all fours just in front of humans; if human eyes are not watching, the Cat-Sìth walks only on its hind legs. Around humans the Cat-Sìth appears with its back arched and its fur erect, as if to show her dominance.

The day of Samhain is generally considered a special day within the Cat-Sìth lore. A saucer of milk would be left outside each household for the Cat-Sìth, as it was believed that, by leaving such an offering, the Cat-Sìth would take a liking to the household and its members and bless them for the coming year.

Please donate if you can

There is a lot on our minds on this unseasonably warm October day, and I do not mean to intrude upon your thoughts... however there is a fundraising campaign I had intedend to begin previous to the recent tragedy, and it still stands in need.

So, simply said, if you can, please donate to the Somerset Humane Society. I have worked with them to make it simple by providing this QR code which will take you directly to the Paypal donation page.

Thank you

THE TROUBLE WITH HIGH MASKING...

Because I’m high masking, when I finally tell someone I’m “stressed” or “overwhelmed”, I mean I am at absolute breaking point.

I need help.

I need to stop.

I Can’t. Do. It. Any. Longer.

Unfortunately, because my external expression and body language tends to be inconsistent with my real emotions, I tend not to be taken seriously.

People sometimes think I’m joking, being sarcastic, or only mildly stressed. So they push me to try harder. Keep going. Try new strategies.

But inside I’m dying.......

If an autistic individual tells you they are overwhelmed, listen. Act. Take it seriously. The overwhelm is likely to be 100 x worse than you think.

Remember this and you could save a life. Or at the very least, help someone from the brink of breakdown.

Just beautiful!

I think I’m done painting. Moth species are (clockwise from top): Luna, Io, Comet, Emperor. This is a wholecloth painted art quilt (before quilting). It will be about 42x54”. White cotton fabric and acrylic textile paint.
