Public Relations Volunteerism Campaign (Environment) 2011

1)

A total of 140 volunteers will be assigned to this activity. They will start from the community hall Tronoh Mines and the into all the places that need to be cleaned up such as the bushes, drains and etc. This activity will start right after the briefing when all arrive at Tronoh Mines.

2.) Repainting the old marketplace and the community hall (9 April 2011)

It was requested by the Head of the Village that we repaint the community hall. The repainting the community hall will start after briefing when arrive at the village. The repainting of the old market place will start after 2.00pm as there are villagers who use the marketplace to sell things. All the paints will all be sponsored. The walls of the community hall will be using 18L x 4 tins of pure white paints for external and 18L x 4 tins of pure white paint for internal. As for the market place, the pillar will be repainted with espresso brown (5L x 5 Tins) using for external purposes paint and for the wooden table, we will be using cocoa brown of 1L x 1 tin.

3.) Replanting green (9 April 2011)

These 30 volunteers will start their duty after the briefing after arrive at the village. They will plant the Ixora plants from the entrance to the village onwards. Estimated is 50 ixora plants. After they are done with the planting, the volunteers will be assigned to help other volunteers in gotong-royong and repainting.

4.) Mural painting (9 April 2011)

The place for the mural painting will be confirmed with headmaster of the primary school after he has selected the design he wanted from the mural design competition that will be held in campus. The volunteers will start their duty together with the rest of the volunteers. If they manage to finish off their duty earlier, they will be assigned to help the other volunteers in gotong-royong. - Registration for mural design competition (14 March- 18 March)

* All the registration forms will be draft out together with the rules and regulations of each activity. All activities start on the Week 9.

* All the registration booth will be held in Café C, Café D and Café H.

1.) Blogging competition (14 March – 24 March)

After the registration ends, the competition will ends on the week 10 and by 24 March 2011, the participants must post the link of that post they are competing in the campaign page. Winners will be announced on Week 11 and prizes will be given to the top 3 winners.

2.) Mural design competition (14 March – 23 March)

The registration will closed on the last weekday of week 9 and the collection of design will be on 23 March 2011. The participants will hand in their design to the selected booth with their copy of registration form attached. Winner will be announced on week 11 after the design is choose by the headmaster of the primary school on 26 @ 27 March 2011.

3.) Flower selling (14 March onwards)

The selling of the ixora plants will stop as soon as the last plant is sold out. The location of this event will be held in Café C opposite of fruits stall. Estimated is 50 ixora plant to be sold out. Each plant sold the buyer will be given a flower shaped sticker to stick on the panorama picture of Tronoh Mines to show the differences that can be made from offering volunteering helps to other.

4.) DIY workshop (Week 12....4 April 2011, 6 April 2011, 8 April 2011)


The DIY workshop will be held in A009, opposite the Heritage Hall. The list of DIY workshop activities are as below :
a) Clothes hangers - planning to use the think wire to bend into hangers

b) Shoe racks – using mob sticks to make a 2 level shoe racks which can put 3 pairs of shoes on each level. c) The ‘peribahasa’ teaching cards – will be in Chinese, BM and English

d) The suku kata card

e) Pictionary story card – five cards per story
