Arizona Conference Brings Reformation Expo to Oshkosh 16/08/2019

Each of our seven conferences in the Pacific Union brought something to share at Oshkosh. The Arizona Conference brought a particularly special surprise for Pathfinders—a Reformation expo! The display was designed and built entirely by Arizona pastors (Ray Navarro, with John Baker and Hugh Barton). The roof and fencing were built at Thunderbird Adventist Academy, and the whole display took five days to assemble at Oshkosh. Included in this expo are portraits and stories of major reformers such as John Wycliffe, William Tyndale, and Martin Luther, as well as a replica of the 95 Theses hung on an old wooden door. Each day, hundreds of Oshkosh attendees are making their way through this piece of living history and taking away their own copy of 95 Theses.

Yesterday (Thursday) evening, a group of six Pathfinders from the Aiea Ali'i Pathfinders in the Hawaii Conference performed a hula dance inspired by the camporee’s theme and the story of David. The song, “In the Palm of My Hand,” and the hula beautifully illustrated how we are held by God. The group began practicing the hula dance in May—and were excited to bring a piece of their Hawaiian culture to Oshkosh.

Pacific Union Pathfinders Go to Oshkosh! 14/08/2019

We're so glad to see our young people from the Pacific Union Conference at Oshkosh! They're earning honors, meeting people from around the world, and making memories to last a lifetime.

Oshkosh Pathfinders, if you visit Hanger C, make sure you visit Bianca at the Adventist Christian Fellowship (ACF) booth!

ACF is a ministry of students, by students and for students, supported by local Adventist churches and conferences. If you're planning to attend a public high school or college, ACF can connect you to other Adventist young people in your community.

Bianca is the vice president of her chapter at UC Davis. "In community college, I didn't really have a network of people my age, of young adults that were in the church, so when I went to Davis and I found this group, it was really key in developing my spiritual life," she says.

Did you know?
The global youth movement known as Pathfinders was nurtured and developed in the Pacific Union. The first conference-sponsored clubs were in Southeastern California, and many of the foundations of Pathfindering—the familiar triangular emblem used worldwide, Pathfinder Fairs, Camporees, the Pathfinder Song—all got their start here in the West. We’re proud of each of our Pathfinder clubs and the way that this ministry teaches young people about Jesus.

There are many exciting experiences created for Pathfinders, but perhaps nothing is quite so anticipated as the International Pathfinder Camporee, which gathers once every five years in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Young people are able to make friends with other Pathfinders from around the world, develop and test their skills alongside other clubs, and learn more about Jesus and living His love.

This year, Pathfinder clubs from the Pacific Union Conference can feature their best Oshkosh memories right on the Union’s website by including in social media!
