I stopped by Trader Joe’s on my way home from work today because I ran out of everything but the bagel seasoning last night 😱 and I can’t be without it! I love it on sweet potatoes 😋 While I was there I got these butternut squash zigzags, why is food always more delicious in fun shapes 🙃 I seasoned with the new organic chili seasoning also from Trader Joe’s and cooked them for about 20 mins at 400. Such a delicious and easy side dish!

Hi! It’s been a while since I posted on here because I was busy getting married 👰🏼 and going on our honeymoon! 🌺🌴 My husband and I got married on June 22. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day, it was so full of love and happiness 💕 We had an almost completely gluten and dairy free wedding, we did have a regular cake also for our guests 🍰 I plan on doing a blog post about our big day and sharing our vendors, let me know if that interests you! This beautiful photo was taken by our amazing photographers, Photos from the Harty 💗

Rhubarb Almond Bars 29/05/2019

I’ve been making my Rhubarb Almond Bars every week since rhubarb started showing up at the farmers market! My fiancé is super happy about it 💁🏼‍♀️🤣 I created these because I couldn’t find any rhubarb recipes that met my simple baking needs. This is a simple, one bowl recipe with ingredients you probably already have if you’re into paleo baking! I’ll be having this for dessert tonight and I’m very excited 😄

Rhubarb Almond Bars This Rhubarb Almond Bar recipe is so simple and only uses one bowl. They can be made paleo or sugar-free!

Farmers market haul 😍 I’m so excited for all the spring produce starting to show up! Towards the end of winter I get a little bored with the lack of variety at the markets, now there’s something new every week 🤗 I can’t wait to use that rhubarb for baking today!

What's in my haul:
🔷 bok choy, asparagus, basil, golden potatoes, and sweet potatoes 🍠
🔷 strawberries, rhubarb, and apples 🍓🍎
🔷 gluten free banana bread and ramp kraut
🔷 salmon, chicken thighs, ground beef, eggs, and bacon 🥚🥓

I stopped at Trader Joe’s on my way home from work today to get some of my favorites and check out anything new 👀 I decided to get the new gluten free, broccoli and kale pizza crust to try for dinner tonight 🥦 I topped it with the Trader Joe’s vegan pesto, some goat cheddar cheese, and some left over Whole Foods rotisserie chicken. It was actually really good! My fiancé was a little skeptical when he saw the crust had kale in it 🤣 but he liked it too! Such a delicious and easy Friday night dinner after a long week 🙌🏻

Went to Oath Pizza for lunch after doing some shopping in Mosaic District 😄 My fiancé and I wanted to treat ourselves after we finally decided on and bought a couch for our new home 🛋😄 Oath Pizza is gluten free friendly and even has vegan cheese! They use ethically sourced ingredients and certified humane meats 🙌🏻 We made our own pizza with a gluten free crust, tomato sauce, vegan cheese, Italian sausage, bacon, spinach, basil, and oregano 🌿 It was so good! I’m so happy to find a delicious gluten free pizza 🍕

My fiancé and I tried Roti Modern Mediterranean for the first time today! Roti reached out to me and told me about all their gluten free options and gifted me a coupon, so I was excited to try them out 🤗 I got the salmon kebab rice bowl with pretty much all the gluten free veggies offered 🙃 Everything was so good! The kale, chickpeas, and sweet potatoes were my favorite 😋 Next time I probably won’t get the cabbage because it was a little too much veggies for me 🤷🏼‍♀️ you can get a lot of food, so my fiancé was very excited about that! I recommend if you are looking for a delicious, quick, gluten free meal 😄

I made my very first charcuterie board yesterday for our housewarming party! I’m so pleased with how it turned out 🤗 There’s a bunch of different types of salami, prosciutto, raspberries, blackberries, mandarins, candied pecans, and walnuts. Everyone loved it! Today is my birthday, so we were celebrating that last night too 🥳 Now I’m off to take a nap because I was up way past bedtime last night 😴

Happy Valentine’s Day! I want to give a special shoutout to my forever valentine, my fiancé, Tommy ❤️ This is our 7th Valentine’s Day together! 🤗 I’m making him beef stew for dinner and be brought me roses when he came home from work 🌹 We don’t make too big a deal out of the day, but we like to do little things to show our love 🥰 I hope you’re having a lovely day, however you celebrate!

Breakfast made by my fiancé 🥰 I love our slow weekend mornings. We eat breakfast together before we tackle our to do lists for the day, which are longer than usual with the new house and wedding planning. Yesterday we met with our wedding coordinator and visited our venue for the first time since booking. It was so exciting seeing the venue again and show it to our parents 🤗 What’s on my plate: scrambled eggs, bacon, kimchi, gluten free and vegan banana chocolate chip muffin. All local and so delicious! ☺️

I’m so thankful the weather warmed up for the farmers market today! It’s been a while since I’ve shown my haul, but I’m still going every week 👩🏼‍🌾 Yesterday I had my bridal hair and makeup trial, so I’m still rocking my fancy hair today for my errands 💁🏼‍♀️

This is a pretty typical lunch for me, leftovers from last night’s dinner 🙌🏻 I like to keep lunch simple ☺️ Putting together leftovers from the fridge is the easiest for me, whether I’m in the office or working from home. Today it’s salmon with turmeric and oregano and roasted spaghetti squash. So simple, easy, and delicious! A lot of people tell me they struggle with lunches when they start eating Paleo or Paleo-ish, but it doesn’t need to be complicated 🍽 What is your go to for lunch?

Parsnip Fries 16/01/2019

Parsnips are one of my favorite winter root vegetables! I get so excited when they start showing up at the farmers market ☺️ They taste the best when roasted and in fry shape, like most vegetables 🤣 If you haven’t tried parsnips yet or are looking for a new way to make them delicious, try out the recipe on my website! And it’s Whole30 approved 😄

Parsnip Fries Parsnips are one of my favorite root vegetables. They are one of the few vegetables available at the market in the winter, so I pick some up every week! Not only are parsnips a delicious low carb "french fry" option, they are so nutritious too!

Having a big driveway is all fun and games until the first snow storm 🤣 After spending the afternoon shoveling and playing with my 🐶, Amelia, in the snow, I’m warming up with some Eating Evolved hot chocolate ☕️ I blend the hot chocolate mix with water, Vital Proteins collagen, and a splash of homemade pecan milk. It’s seriously so good! I’ve had the best weekend so far ☺️ I got together with some of my bridesmaids before the storm and we found their dresses 👗😍 It was so much fun! Now I’m just staying cozy while the snow is still falling ❄️

2018 was an amazing year. I got engaged and bought my first house 💍🏡 2018 also had its struggles like having surgery to remove skin cancer on my forehead and dealing with the stress of the major life events which didn’t leave me feeling my best. I’m going into 2019 trying to get my health back on track. Now that I have more free time I plan to start updating my website again and share even more with you all. Thanks for following along! Have a great New Years Eve! 🎉

I got off work early, so I’m in full Christmas mode 🤗🎄 I decided to do some baking with my extra time, so I tried the dough by 🍪 The cookies turned out pretty good! They are slightly salty, but other than that they are a really good easy option for Paleo cookies. Has anyone else tried them before? Now I’m ready to watch some movies and enjoy our first Christmas in our new home 🏡 Merry Christmas Eve! 🎅

I was inspired by Diane Sanfilippo to make the lamb chops that have been sitting in my freezer since the summer tonight! I was so intimidated to cook them, but they turned out to be so simple to make 🙌🏻 My fiancé and I eat cheaper cuts of meat usually, so this felt like a very fancy dinner for us 😂 I served the lamb chops with sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Everything was so good!! I love cooking dinner on Sunday nights and preparing for the week ahead ☺️

My fiancé picked me up the holiday special juice from Fruitive to try! He works in downtown DC, so he’ll occasionally pick me up a treat 🥰 This Festival of Lights flavor is so good and definitely putting me in the holiday spirit 🎄 The only ingredients are cranberries, red apple, pineapple, lime, and mint. I highly recommend Fruitive if you’re looking for an organic juice shop in DC! I’ll be finishing this while watching a Christmas movie! Any recommendations? I watched The Princess Switch on Netflix last weekend and enjoyed it 🤗

I had today for the first time in so long! I probably had it once a week when I lived in Bethesda 😬 I’ve missed it! I love to make my own bowl with spinach, chicken, seasonal fruits and veggies, goat cheese, and the lime cilantro vinaigrette. So good!! I always ask for less greens too because they give way too much in my opinion. I got out of work early today, so I explored some of the new shops that have opened in Bethesda since I moved away. The new Anthropologie, which is overwhelmingly big, but awesome 🤩 and Follain, the new non toxic beauty store were my favorites! Now time to relax with my pup 🐶 ☕️

First post from my new house! 🏡 My new office gets beautiful light for photos 🤗 Much better than the dark, 2nd floor condo I used to live in! While I do miss living in downtown Bethesda, I’m loving my new house and our big yard for my pup to run around! It’s so nice to finally be settled ☺️ This was my lunch today, some leftover rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods seasoned with Primal Palate adobo seasoning, roasted sweet potatoes with everything but the bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s, and roasted romanesco! So good!

Feeling festive with this pumpkin bread! 🎃 I enjoyed a slice toasted with a healthy amount of butter 🤗 So good! Life has been very busy and exciting recently because my fiancé and I finally bought a house!! It’s been a 4 long months of searching with a lot of let downs and tears. Buying a house in the DC area is not an easy task! But I’m so happy now 😄 We move in on Saturday and I can’t wait! 🏡 Happy Halloween!! 👻

So thankful for Chipotle when I’m too exhausted to cook! I had a great weekend visiting my family in Cumberland, Maryland after a slightly stressful week. On Monday I had surgery to remove a basal cell carcinoma spot on my forehead 🤕 It was a shock when I found out the spot was skin cancer, because I’m so young. But it was a wake up call to be even more conscientious about my sun exposure, especially with my light skin, eyes, and hair. I do not want to go through this again 🙅🏼‍♀️ So, wear your sunblock and be careful friends!

Roasted Acorn Squash with Indian Spices 11/10/2018

I haven’t had much time (or energy) to be creative in the kitchen lately. House hunting, wedding planning, and living in a space that is not my own has left me uninspired in the kitchen. I’m thankful for the recipes I’ve already created, like this Indian spiced roasted acorn squash ☺️ I’ve been making this every week since acorn squash showed up at the farmers market 🙌🏻 It’s delicious and makes the house smell so good while roasting 🤗

Roasted Acorn Squash with Indian Spices This roasted acorn squash is one of my favorite fall side dishes. It is so easy to prep and the Indian spices pair perfectly with the flavor of the acorn squash!
