Hello friends,

I’m on a short hiatus after surgery to repair a badly broken foot. God has been so kind to Sweet B and me through this. We can hardly take in the generosity, love and support of our family, friends and dear church.

Since I had to cancel several shows, I’ll start posting items for sale here next week that would make fabulous Christmas gifts🎁decor🛍wardrobe options 👗for the holidays.

I’ll ship all orders out the second week in November.

Even if you don’t shop, you can like, comment on, save and share the posts to help me reach more people. Whatever you do, please know how grateful I am that you’re here.

XO,
Maggie💗

Grand Baroque, designed in 1941 by William S. Warren and created by Wallace Silver, this is one of the few rings I make from a silver pattern that’s still being produced today.

While I’m on the topic of current silver patterns, a set of rings made from a bride’s registered silver pattern makes the most memorable bridesmaid’s gift! It’s such a thoughtful, personal way to honor your friends, and it’s a gift that will last for generations and never go out of style.

Send me a DM if you’d like me to make rings from your silver pattern. I’m accepting commission requests through October 30 for delivery by December 20.

Biscuit jar or vase? Both! When I see heirloom silver I see possibilities, and thought I’d share some inspiration for how to use your special pieces in everyday life.

Our first Vintage Dress Drop happens tomorrow at 9pm EST on Instagram. Here’s a quick tip to help you select a dress you know will fit:

Grab your best fitting dress. Lay it flat on your bed.
Measure side to side at the seams:
💚On the shoulders
💚Under the armpits
💚At the waist
💚At the hips
💚From top of shoulder to hem

Every dress will be listed with these measurements and not sizes because vintage sizes vary wildly. A vintage size 16 can fit like a modern size 8. It can also be the opposite - I purchased one muumuu and the size on the tag is listed as Petite but it fits me perfectly (I’m 5’7” and wear a size 10).

So, grab that dress, make note of the measurements and you’ll be well prepared for the sale tomorrow. Also, if you’re like me and have unusual fit challenges (my arms are larger than the typical size 10 person), DM me prior to the sale and I’m happy to check the measurement for you.

See you tomorrow!
XO,
Maggie

The BEST flower hack ever…

The first photo is from today. The second is from my photo shoot with Designed by Dixon on June 24. Those are the same green hydrangeas that Anna Louise bought Trader Joe’s from our photo shoot ONE MONTH AGO! Sorry for shouting but seriously I can’t believe how well the hydrangea hack from Better Homes and Gardens works!

I’ll put the link in my bio, but basically you just recut the stem and submerge the entire flower (including blooms) in fresh water for 1-2 hours. I held mine below water by putting a plate on top of them. Hydrangeas are one of the few flowers that can take water through their flower and their stem.

It worked on both the green and white blooms, but the white ones only lasted another week after I submerged them. The green are still going strong.

If you’re reading this a month from now, just Google the name of the article: “How to Revive Cut Hydrangea Flowers When They Start to Wilt”. Seriously, it’s genius.

XO,
Maggie

PS - don’t miss how cute these flower looked in my silver biscuit jar. It’s gorgeous from all sides, and a great way to

Get yourself a friend like Anna Louise Designed by Dixon who will make the yummy recipes you tag her in! 🥂

We had already planned this photo shoot when I saw the recipe in VictoriaMagazine HOURS before we were starting. She popped out and got the ingredients and voila, a refreshing summer sip we know you’ll love. I kept having to refill my glass for the pictures. 😂 One recipe modification we both agreed on - less sugar (maybe 1/2c).

White Peach Sangria
Makes 8 cups
Ingredients
Peach-Basil Syrup:
2 white peaches , quartered, sliced, and unpeeled
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
Sangria:
1 (750-ml) bottle Pinot Grigio, chilled
2 cups white grape juice
⅓ cup brandy
3 white peaches, sliced
Garnish:
blooming basil
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine peaches, 1 cup water, sugar, and basil. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. Let cool completely. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into an airtight container; discard solids.
In a pitcher, combine 1 cup Peach-Basil Syrup, wine, grape juice, brandy, and peaches. Chill until ready to serve. Divide among goblets. Garnish with basil, if desired.

This little corner in our living room is my favorite because it’s full of memories:

Comfy chair - first piece of furniture I bought as an adult. It qualifies as vintage now. 😂

Side table - Belonged to Sweet B’s grandma. 👵🏻

Silver tray - gift from a dear friend who knows how much I love old silver and family stories. There are SO MANY ways to use your silver. ❤️

Woven drum - thrifted on a family vacation to Charleston. A woman followed me through the store and out to the parking lot trying to buy the pair. 🙄

Brass tray - found it shoved in a corner of the storage room when we bought this house (which happens to be my childhood home…thanks mom). 🥰

I started SilverTree because I love helping people use their silver and tell their family stories. If you have silver that’s been stored for a long time, I can show you ways to use and enjoy it daily.

Shoot me a message if you need some inspiration, or if you’d like me to create an heirloom piece of jewelry from your silver.
