Scenes from my aerobic vineyard ride today. We used to try to encourage our athletes to keep intensity low for the long weekend ride and to push hard intervals on Monday. We got tired of fighting the mob and now we usually make the weekend long ride HARD then we let people keep it easy and aerobic on Monday to recover and ease into the work week. This fits most athlete's weekly rhythms better. More fun + more compliance = better results.

“Quick shout out to Kevin Coady for being my coach for the past 5 plus years. 10 years ago I got lucky and got my first Kona slot. After that, 5 years of some near misses but I couldn't quite get there. With Kevin, I've now qualified for Kona 4 more times and qualified (but never attended) the 70.3 WC twice. We may not always agree on everything and I'm pretty sure I'm not his easiest athlete to deal with, but the results speak for themselves. Thank you, Kevin!”

Can’t run on the road so I’ll run in the pool .

16/04/2021

Working on improving my hold on the water. When my arms get tired I tend to let my hold on the water slip (I make funky motions with my hands) which feels easier and allows my hand to move quickly through the water but doesn't create much speed. We like a high stroke rate in swimming but not when it's achieved by letting your hand slip through the water.

13/04/2021

Trying to establish good triathlon swim technique as I get back in shape. Focusing on not losing my hold on the water and a good snap of the hips at the finish. Shorter reps with longer rest for the first few weeks keeps things from getting too sloppy.

We love our Asian athletes here at TriForce and we are proud to have each and every one of you on our team. People who spend their time and energy attacking other people (immigrants, black americans, muslims, asians, and so on) are flat out LOSERS. Get a life and do something positive.

Triathlete sick version of self care: use a variety of torture implements to find the spots that hurt most. My favorite is a softball, but I also like the to got into my psoas. 30 to 90 seconds of " hurt so good' pressure hopefully leads to a release / relax. Repeat often to fix problem areas.
