Morse Code Presents DJ Knightlife and Eric Berretta bass, breaks, electronica, old school
Saturday, Dec 9th was my first time on Twitch TV.
I was glad to make it my very first experience by being able to be a part of this great fundraiser to give to kids that have families struggling or have no family to enjoy Christmas.
I want to thank my old school friend, DJ, and engineer from our legendary old school record label Knight Life Recordings from the 90's Chris Hand aka DJ Knigthlife and long time friend Kris Klutch for inviting me out to his home to rep my set.
Saturday night I wanted to experience and infused my old school signature breakbeat style with progressive house from the mid 90's. I have been looking to do this for a minute and incorporate a 50/50 mix of both styles, of not only breakbeat, but some dope aggressive progressive house to my fan base.
Just like the music was infused in the 90's.
I will be posting my set from the Twitch TV show last Saturday night, as well as creating my very own Twitch channel very soon, alongside my talented girlfriend DJ ZZ aka Zule Zevallos from Miami, Florida.
So stay tuned friends...
See you Saturday!

The upcoming event @ ROOTS on Saturday, October 14th is a special one indeed...
First off, I have not done a birthday bash in over 10 years, as I used to throw annual birthday bashes at various club residencies or guest spots at clubs I used to frequent as a DJ, back as far as 1998.
Excited to have a long time DJ colleague & good friend of mine DJ R-Fresh join us for the special occasion.
Rich & I have played events through-out Florida into the Southeast together into major cities like Charlotte, North Carolina.
When we first met at UltraViolet nightclub in Orlando, FL sharing an event of 50 DJs during circa 1995-96' we hit it off instantly. It was not long after that I invited him to come out and play in Daytona Beach during my residency at the Coliseum.
The underground Daytona scene at that time "adored" the Miami Bass sound (ie: Dynamix Il, DJ Laz, 2 Live Crew, DJ Magic Mike, Miami Bass Labs, etc) and as a rising DJ at that time myself, I was incorporating that sound into my sets along w/ the "fresh cutting edge" breaks that were coming out from DJs like:
Icey, DJ Dan as the Electroliners, Simply Jeff, Kelly Reverb, K5, Huda Hudia & Dave London, X,
& Knight Life Recordings a brand that I was a part of + producing tracks for under the affiliate name Berretta Bros along w/ my brother Alex.
I had brought R-Fresh into the Coliseum on two separate occasions, and on his first visit he was an instant hit w/ his creative sampling & heavy bass drops back in 1996.
On his second visit I invited R-Fresh to close out our last night at the infamous Coliseum in Daytona Beach in February of 1997.
It was just myself as the resident DJ, along with our guest DJ R-Fresh, and local favorite DJs Frank Pannullo and Dave Davis.
The night was slam packed wall to wall and R-Fresh was droppin' that Devastating Bass like he was known for on that last night of the Coliseum. Just a small bit of history w/ my good friend R-Fresh and I.
I look forward to seeing everyone out for an eventful intimate night, as I have a long history of playing alongside all of the headliners on this event.
From working in the studio with Chris Hand aka Knightlife back to 1997 on old school Orlando record label Knight Life Recordings.
Playing alongside DJ Stylus, as I would have him frequent guest DJ w/ me at the Coliseum when I was the resident DJ.
And my good friend DJ Security playing alongside him countless events at the Club at Firestone and Future Sound of Breaks in Miami and Orlando.
See you all at the Iron Cow. Orlando, FL.

Showtime ! 🎛️🎚️🎧
A little history run back to the birth of my DJ career, music production, and my 20 year run with FSOB for this upcoming Summer Skool event @ Ace Cafe (formerly The Edge in Orlando) on Saturday, July 23. 2022.
It was early 1994 and the rave scene in the USA and around the world was erupting and evolving at an incredible speed...
I was a freestyle dancer and involved very heavily in the underground music scene and as a freestyle dancer during that time I was performing at major events.
Two of the most memorable for me was to perform on stage for the Cotton Club from the U.K. at Hyperspace @ the Central Florida Fairgrounds for the New Years Eve of incoming 1995, and also Cozmos 2 at the Kissimmee convention center.
It was during that time frame when I realized I wanted to start a professional DJ career to play music geared towards the dancers, mainly the bboy/girl freestyle tip.
I started to collect vinyl and practice vigorously day in and day out on Technics 1200 turntables. Soon after, I began to play out in nightclubs and scored a residency at the well known Coliseum dance club in Daytona Beach, Florida, leading to play for more nightclubs (Sol-rays, Stealth, and 600 North) in Daytona Beach.
It was in January 1999, I had a connect through friends DJ's Friction and Spice to network with promoters in Charlotte, North Carolina, so I left Florida for over a year to represent the Florida scene in breakbeats around the Southeast, where I met plenty of talented artists and DJ's from the area who I now consider friends.
In the fall of 2000, I returned home to Florida with an offer from an investor, Twilight Grooves, to produce a licensed CD product that I decided to title as "Florida Breaks", releasing 2 separate volumes one in 2000 and another in 2001. Having already developed a relationship in the mid 90's with a rising promoter at the time known as Glyn S. Morgan and his brand Droppin' Science, we continued to network as I was already producing tracks under the name "Berretta Bros" with the popular record label Knight Life Recordings since March of 1997.
Glyn and I worked well together and shared the same vision of taking the Breaks movement to another level. After the production and advertising of Florida Breaks volume 2, I scored a residency at the world renowned Club @ Firestone in downtown Orlando, FL. At the same time both Glyn of Droppin' Science and Jayson Miller of Twilight Grooves were doing events geared towards breakbeats at Firestone and around Central Florida.
In 2002, I was lucky enough to play at Ultra Music Festival on the very first Future Sound of Breaks (aka FSOB) stage. This continued annually for the FSOB movement for the following 6 years in a row at Ultra Music Festival.
In 2003, we also ran our own signature FSOB events parallel with ULTRA during the Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida for many years to follow.
In 2005, the FSOB brand licensed CD products titled as Future Sound of Breaks volume 1 by DJs Storm & Trevor Rockwell and then volume 2 in 2009 with myself and Supernaut.
The next step was the FSOB branded Tour, which launched making stops at various metropolitan cities around the U.S.
It is hard to believe that 20 years have passed making it the BIG "20" for the anniversary of the FSOB movement.
As I look forward to this upcoming Summer Skool event taking place on Saturday, July 23rd, my plan is to play a "classic set" of popular Florida Breaks back to my early years giving credit to some of the greats in music by artists such as: DJ Icey, Baby Anne, Tony Faline, Sharaz, Brad Smith, Merlyn, and our beloved Rick West (RIP), to name a few.
Taking the stage I'll pay tribute to the fans with my fellow pioneers on this night including our headliner Huda Hudia, to represent this "now classic" Florida music culture.
