In the Icelandic and Norwegian poems, the rune is associated with the god Týr. According to the runologist Lars Magnar Enoksen, the Tiwaz rune is referred to in a stanza in Sigrdrífumál, a poem in the Poetic Edda. In 2018 the symbol was incorporated on the sweaters of the 2018 Norwegian Alpine ski team.

Valknut was found on old Norse stone sculptures and grave steles. It is usually called the "heart of Hrungnir" after the legendary giant.

The emblem is often found in a play depicting God Odin, where he can represent the power of gods over death. The three overlapping Valknut shapes suggest related Celtic symbols of motherhood and rebirth - perhaps it was the symbol of the goddess at some point in mythology.

Stainless Steel Massive Viking Hammer

Viking Story:
The drakkar warship, which was the basic unit when it comes to plundering and navigating ships at sea. A characteristic feature of the drakkars were sculptures representing dragons' heads (hence the name of the class of these units) attached to the stem during the expedition - most probably in order to deter the deities caring for the attacked cities. These sculptures were removed during the return, so it doesn’t offend their brothers.
