In times of relative peace it is easy to forget how much we owe to others. In the short history of our country, men and women have done violence to secure our way of life. Which is an uncomfortable truth. And not only did they fight, but they also died in this pursuit. And though they are now laid to rest, we still enjoy the fruit of their sacrifice. Yes, it is true, that not all who fought and died were deserving of honor. But neither do we deserve the peace their blood secured. So for today, let’s leave judgement to God and be thankful to Him and them for what we have been given.
