Rainbows as reminders to NOTICE

We have just passed through the middle point between the dark and light.

Autumn equinox has a special quality of being a perfect balance between light and dark. It holds equal amounts of light to darkness at this point in the year.

We may choose this as an opportunity to experience this season through an embodied or lived experience. Consider what it might feel like to notice and name aspects of it small or big as you move through.

It is something we might honour through ritual, and a simple practice of noticing can be such a ritual.

Each year, the light shifts in the studio over the seasons. Each Autumn the prisms cast the most rainbows into the studio due to the height at which the sun is moving across the landscape.

An opportunity to deep presence through noticing.

Day 9: Trial and Error

this is a foundational part of engaging with the creative process. We take small and large, seeming risks with each step.

If something evolves, in a way that we would like more of, it becomes a tool or a process that we might explore further and follow the opening that has presented itself.

If something doesn’t develop in the way, we had hoped, it becomes information to support us and what next steps might look like to shift directions.

Learning, being willing to continue to learn and be humbled by the process. I am continuing to learn this every day to be present and curious.

Day 8 : Finishing Touches new work up at .coffeeco

Seeds of Light ✨ a new body of work is on display for the next month.

Inspired by our human experience, with the seasons, both internally and externally .

Thank you to everyone who is involved in making the shows happen, from the owners for birthing this stellar business, to the coordinator Sara to the in-house carpenter, who patiently helped me hang the work.

I would encourage you to pop by their location, grab a delicious snack and drink… And taking the artwork!

I am grateful for my inner wisdom and tenacity to push towards all the finishing touches that guided this show in coming together.

outside of working with clients over the last month, my personal yoga, practice, or puppy training I have been fiercely painting nonstop.

Everyday this month I’m going to be making a post based on prompts by and her March movement

I was born on January 11 and my life path is 11.

I have been creating for as long as I can remember. My parents always made sure I had some art supplies on hand.

In 2009 I bought some paints with the intention of create some thing for my home. Someone contacted me shortly after completing the two pieces to ask if they could purchase the diptych. I leaned into the practice of letting go and sold them.

I then painted another piece, and the same thing happened… And so it again… painting provides me with a space of deep stillness, and I am moved.

I am drawn to the inherent beauty and spirit of the natural world. My artwork is a personal dialogue that reaches through the chaos and spirit of that spirit. Through both imagery and medium I create dreamscapes, a collection from the journey we call LIFE that speaks to life cycles, evolution, growth, loss, dreams and the passage of time itself.

My artwork speaks to our universal interconnection as we reflect like mirrors. A reflection of shadow and light, chaos and beauty, lived experience and ancient divinity.

Each piece is a journey into the subconscious towards the conscious creating a bridge between two worlds, the seen and the unseen. My artwork aims to reveal the beautiful melancholy and fragile imperfectly perfect experience of life.

My artistic purpose is to inspire reflection. Within the process of creation I experience stillness and flow, my true voice and inner fire, a journey and new experience. I consider art to have the power to change lives, heal people, unite them and shed light on the world in a new way. I infuse this into each intentional line, brush stroke or word.

I would say, my art reflects me, ever evolving, and curious. I enjoy so many types of mediums and currently move between painting, digital art, and mixed media.

Feeling tired, content and inspired.

Friday nights lately have looked like rooms lit with Christmas lights, cozy clothing and blankets, warm food, animals snuggled in and creativity in different forms.

I have come to deeply enjoy being snuggled in bed with my iPad, being able to create from the comfort of my bed, is sort of a dream come true. As a hermit/introvert it’s actually one of my favourite places to be.

I try to offer myself time on Fridays to process the week, both professionally and personally. I often create an image that offers myself, some kind of insight and perspective. This is where my personal practice meets a professional practice… One where I offer myself an opportunity to notice what’s alive for me as I close off my work week.

It’s become a ritual. Something I both honour and rely on. ✨🫖✨

I hope if this is the beginning of your weekend or days off that you are finding ways to nourish yourself.

Finding deep heat in moments like this.

I’ve been sitting with this often lately. Spending a lot of my time away from client work alone at home or walking in the forest with my dog. Alone and yet held.

I have decided at this time not to continue printing paper prints of my artwork. Art cards will still be available moving forward.

I relate the intensity of Frida

A painter, poet, artist, lover, … she loved her life expiring the depth of who she was.

Dropping into shared space with my own personal ART MUSE alongside as I listen to her latest DROPPED IN PODCAST ✨available on Spotify.

I enjoy listening to podcasts and audiobooks while I’m in the process of creating. It’s a way for me to indulge in to passions at the same time, learning and creating. I can’t help but feel that the essence of what I am listening to makes its way into what I am creating.

On a studio sharing note I’ve just completed this new piece titled QUANTUM HEALING.

Which reflects the phenomenon of quantum entanglement Which is a phenomenon in which entangled systems exhibit correlations that cannot be explained by classical physics. It has recently suggested that a similar process occurs between people and explains and anomalous phenomena such as healing.
