We're planning an upcoming Houston Playground and Garden workday on 11/5 from 2-5. One of the projects will be to paint the paved area in front of the chain link fence. Comment if you'd like to help with ideas, planning or the painting on the 5th.

We had an amazing workday on Saturday to clear garden beds and plant pansies at Houston. A big thanks to everyone who came out.

And keep an eye on the front area on Allens Lane. It'll get planted in the coming months!!

Did anyone lose orange and black work gloves?

Not much of that screw left. A big thanks to those that helped replace it (and many others) today.

Thanks to the Mum who stopped and told me how when she used to go to Houston there was just an empty space. Thanks for the interest you showed. Today I stopped one place from collapse but I was out of bolts and time to fix other spots. If you can use a screwdriver you can lend a hand too. I'll post more of what we need later.

Amazing workday for Houston Playground! Thank you to Home Depot, Houston school and the West Mt. Airy Community for coming out to support our Community Care Day!

The playground needs new wood chips and on Friday we are expecting them to arrive. This is what the pile was like last time and this time the pile should be just as big. Come along on Sunday 10:00am to 1:00pm for our community care day and help spread them out. Bring a rake, a battery powered drill or just yourself. We will have food and drink and fun.

Have you ever noticed how the fence around the edge is put together with two screws in each bit of wood? Some of those screws have been there a while and now look like these - one has the threads rusted through while the other just broke in half. Are you ready for our community day on the 15th - we need to put some new screws in a lot of places and we need your help to do so.

SAVE THE DATE - Playground family fun day/work party. 15th May 10:00am to 1:00pm (rain date 22nd May). The playground does not fix itself and the school is not responsible for it either. Over the winder more screws have rusted though and we need to spread more mulch. Help keep our playground safe.

Last minute reminder - playground planning meeting at 7:30157 W Durhamm tomorrow night (the 4th Feb) at 157 W Durham St. Come along and lend a hand.

Thanks so much to everyone who came, sold, and in general took part in our yard sale. I hope you all enjoyed the food (thanks to Bredenbecks, the Trolly Car, High point and Night Kitchen for that).

Yard sale starts in 2 hours. The weather looks fine. Come on down: 9:00 to 1:00 outside the School.

Time to start finding bits for our yard sale - so far I have two bookshelves, a nice desk, a great child's bike and much more - pick them up at 9:00 tomorrow outside Houston School on Allen's lane (knock on wood the weather forecast does not get worse)
