Woodland Ferry Beagle Club had a very nice second day to our Spring
Trial. Rabbits came good and the weather was great compared to yesterdays rain.
We had 22 big females and 47 little females. Thank you to our judges who did a great job, Chuckie Bass, Dan Kibler, Brayden Stranahan and a special thanks to Mike Cunningham for filling in on short notice.

Woodland Ferry Beagle Club had a nice turnout on a difficult day. High winds and heavy rain prevailed but fun was still had.
We had 15 little males and 24 big males. Thanks to the judges for their perseverance and hard work in the face of the weather challenges. Johnny King, Norman Dixon, Chris Reed and Joey Brown judged for us today - again, thank you guys.
Also thanks to Wayne Deaven and Diamond Dog Food for coming and supporting us with prizes.
Finally, thanks to the beaglers that came out and supported us today. We’ve had this date for 20 + years now. Our members work hard to put on a good trial and we appreciate those that continue to support us, despite other trial options. Thank you!!!

Woodland Ferry Beagle Club had a very successful trial November 11 and 12, 2023. We had a total of 132 entries. Rabbits came good, the weather was good and we had unusually, for us, good scenting conditions.
Thank you to the judges who all did a great job. Special thanks to Clint Roach and Nathan Parry for filling in. And a big shout out to Mary and Paul Baker for cooking breakfast and lunch. It was great to have the kitchen open again!!

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have a judging change for Sunday 15” females. Nathan Parry will be replacing Liam Sprang. Thanks Nathan.

Woodland Ferry Beagle Club held our annual Fall licensed Gundog Brace Trial this past weekend . We were blessed with good weather and a nice turnout. We had a total of 125 hounds for the weekend.
We want to thank all the members and guests who were able to make the trial and helped jump rabbits. As they say, many hands make light work, and that is certainly the case when it comes jumping rabbits.
Want to thank the judges and marshals who put in two full days and did an outstanding job. Special thanks to the judges, who on short notice, filled in for the advertised judges that could not make it. Thanks Travis Medlin, James Smith, Rick Hamlin and Joey Brown!!

Woodland Ferry Beagle Club had a successful spring trial March 26 & 27, 2022. We had a total of 159 entries, good supply of rabbits and decent weather. The scenting conditions were unusually good for us and the dogs took advantage of it.
We would like to thank all the beaglers that were able to come and support us. Special thanks to the judges for their efforts, Colin O’Drain, Johnny King, Darrell Myers, Mickey Ferrell, Adam Wilson, Shane Hunt and particularly, Barry Clapper and Nathan Parry who filled in on short notice. Also, our marshals Dave Quillen, Keith Richardson, CD Downes and others. Thanks to the members who helped jumped rabbits.

Woodland Ferry Beagle is sad to inform the beagling public that we have lost one of our founding members, Dave Medley. Dave passed away Thursday, November 18 after a brief illness.
Dave was instrumental in the formation of the Woodland Ferry Beagle Club, he will be missed by many. Dave was an excellent houndsman. While the faces of his dogs changed regularly, you could always count on Dave putting a good pack of hounds together. Dave loved the "art of a deal" almost as much as he cared about his dogs.

Dave was also a great travel partner. Never needed a radio when traveling with Dave, you see, he liked to talk too!!

Many stories will be shared about Dave during the upcoming trial and hunting seasons. He was a good friend to many and will truly be missed. May he rest in peace.

It is with great sadness that I am creating this post. the Woodland Ferry Beagle Club lost one of its founding members last Thursday. Dale Matlack passed away, peacefully at home. Dale was generous, fun loving. He had a great sense of humor, always ready to lend a hand and share a story. Dale and Donna Matlack ran our kitchen for years.They worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was well fed and had a great time. He will be missed by many. Please keep Donna and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Woodland Ferry Beagle Club had a very successful trial this past weekend. Thanks to the judges and marshals for a job well done. Rabbits were plentiful and the running was excellent both days. Special thanks to Nathan Parry and Malcolm Simien for filling in for judges that needed to cancel. And Dan Kibler who overcame some car trouble and still made the trial to judge a good size class of 55 little females.
