Tomorrow (Nov. 20) would have been my 25th wedding anniversary. (I was widowed in 2006.) To acknowledge it, I wanted to make something unique, so I created a jewelry set using both Ed's (turquoise) and my (peridot) birthstones. I found the turquoise beads in Colorado, and my sister Jane gave me the strands of peridot beads when she was here with me the week of Ed's funeral.
I accented the pieces with Celtic knots (pewter with gold finish) as our Irish-made wedding bands featured raised Celtic knot work along with the Claddagh design, so that really ties it together for me. It's nice to have something positive and uplifting to enjoy as I reflect upon the tremendous happiness we enjoyed.
