Rookie the Bulldog
The OG mascot Dogs
They tell you not to cry. They tell you that it's just a dog, not a human being. They tell you that the pain will be over.
They tell you that the animals don't know that they have to die. They tell you that it's important not to let him suffer. They tell you that you can have another one. They tell you it's going to happen to you. They tell you that there is more pain. But they don't know how many times you've looked into your dog’s eyes. They don't know how many times you and your dog have looked into darkness alone.
RIP Opie. 💔💔
This is a past picture of my amazing Opie. He crossed over to The Rainbow Bridge this morning. He was 12 years and almost 7 months old.
Opie is my heart and through our journey we have been able to help other special needs dogs through our rescue……we have saved hundreds and impacted thousands. Opie has mentored several hundred puppies through our home.
Love you Opie……you have impacted my life in ways that I will carry with me until my final days. You were the most amazing boy dawg ever!! ❤️❤️❤️
Great Photograph.! ❤️

Bath time for the “Howboy” at the local Tractor Supply dog wash station.
Vinny came into care with Opie’s Rescue as a 9-10 week old puppy. He presented with spina bifida and incontinence. As Vinny continued to grow and develop he became sick and it was discovered after a trip to the ER and further testing with Dr M that Vinny had serious internal issues. The muscular wall that holds his bladder in place was not developed enough to do that and was allowing the bladder to slide back.
After dealing with this for about 3 weeks or so and checking into surgery options at the Univeristy for possible repair, it was decided it was in the best interest of Vinny to cross him over to the Rainbow Bridge due to his other health issues along with this.
Vinny was extra special and a very sweet boy! I feel blessed as his caretaker during this time to have loved Vinny! ❤️
