HOMENETMEN Walnut Creek GARS chapter, founded in 2000, is the local chapter of HOMENETMEN. It is the 17th Chapter of the Western USA Region of Homenetmen
That’s a wrap on Summer Camp 2024! Our scouts enjoyed a weekend bonding with one another and making lasting camp memories. Scouts participated in a hike, knot & trial sign lectures, games, crafts, and kharouyg (campfire). Congrats to our Kaileeg/Ardzveegs for earning their art merit! Can’t wait for Fall Camp!
47th Navasardian Athletics Tournament! Our chapter and athletes made memories sure to last a lifetime with 2 soccer teams and individual athletes competing in track, swimming, tennis, ping-pong, and chess. As always they couldn’t have done it without the support of their coaches, parents, and chapter executives who make all their successes possible. Thank you to everyone involved for making this year such a success.
Our undefeated U10 soccer team! These athletes exceeded all expectations and won first place in their division!🥇Their teamwork, determination, and perseverance are inspiring. They couldn’t have done it without the support of their coaches, parents, and chapter. It’s takes a village just like the Homenetmen motto elevate yourself and others with you!
For most of our U7/8 athletes this was their first Navasartian tournament! Players and parents alike had so much fun during their 4 games. We can’t wait to see them grow their skills and come back stronger next year.!⚽️🥅

This Sunday our scouts wrapped up the year at our Rank Ceremony! Scouts received their gark certificates, updated ranks, merit badges, and got to take their oaths. We are so proud of all our scouts’ hard work this year! We can’t wait to see what next year holds!⚜️🥳🇦🇲

This weekend our scouts enjoyed our annual Day Camp. Scouts spent the day reviewing their Garks, finishing up merit badges, and taking their end of year tests. They also enjoyed playing soccer, working on their sharkain, and team building.
109 years after the Genocide of the Armenian people, the seeds that were scattered across the world have flourished into deep rooted communities. 🇦🇲 on Sunday, our scouts participated in the annual commemoration of the Armenian Genocide with scouts from around the Bay Area. On Monday our leaders had the honor of presenting the color guard and conducting the flag ceremony at both the California State Assembly and California State Senate. 🇦🇲
This weekend our scouts enjoyed the lovely weather and spent the day outside. Their focus was touching up and learning new sharkain hrahangs (marching commands) and continuing their good work on their gark books. Keep up the hard work!

Today our Kaileeg Ardzveegs had the opportunity to visit Creativity Unleashed Ceramics and make some Armenian pomegranate art. Our scouts got to do everything from rolling and shaping their clay to painting it. 🎨Swipe to see the process and what they look like before being fired in the kiln!

Winter Camp 2024 💙 Our astronomy themed camp was a huge success! Scouts learned about stars, plants, and constellation. 💫 They used crafts to solidify their understanding and went stargazing to see their lectures come to life! 🌌🔭 Congratulations to the Kaileegs for winning room inspection, Y. Haul and K. Sofi for earning deebar scout, and K. Sevan for earning her Pokh Arachnort astijan. Thank you to our parent volunteers who helped us cook and drive!
Scoutsgiving was a success! Our scouts enjoyed fall themed crafts, team building activities, and a scoutsgiving snack time. So thankful for our Homenetmen family🦃🤎
Another successful ashkhadank! Today our scouts enjoyed learning origami, a puzzle competition, a friendly but competitive game of soccer and a push-up contest.
This Sunday our scouts participated in a flag blessing ceremony during badarak (mass). 🇦🇲 Surpasan blessed our flags as well as our scouts. He also gave a short karoz (sermon) with a special message about the importance of serving our Armenian community and the importance of our moto Bartsratsir Bartsratsur. ⚜️🇦🇲
Fall Camp was success!🍂 our Ari/Arenoush completed their Wilderness Explorer Merit Badge while our Kaileeg/Ardzveegs completed their Outdoorsman Activity Pin. So glad we got to share this experience with our kouyrer and yeghpairner from Sacramento “Lori” Chapter and make lasting friendships.
Job well done by all of our leaders who have spent months planning and expecting!

This weekend our Kaileeg/Ardzveegs participated in the Gronagan Shkanshan program hosted by San Francisco chapter. Scouts learned about Armenia’s Christian heritage thought crafts and lectured in church.
