Come join us on Tuesday October 18th 2022 from 7-9pm. Our guest speaker is Theresa Lee. She will give a brief talk on general composting. Then she will give detailed information on Bokashi composting. Please bring small baggie with table scraps to get composted. We will also have door prizes and refreshments. Hope to see you there!

Hello everyone our next meeting is on April 19th at 7 pm. We meet at Center 50+ 2615 Portland rd. Our guest speaker will be the owners of the 13th Street Nursery Scott and Dianna. They will be bringing some plants for door prizes and we will have light refreshments. Hope to see some new faces!

We have a guest speaker from Terra Gardens and bark. Dan Estachio the owner will be giving a talk on "Getting the best from your fruit and vegetable gardens". That will be Tuesday at 7pm, Center 50+ 2615 Portland rd, Salem OR. We will have light refreshments and door prizes. Hope to see you there!

We will be meeting tomorrow night the topic is how to prune grapes and blueberries. Hope to see some new faces. Masks are required. We will have light refreshments and door prizes.

Ok we are going to try something different for our meeting next Tuesday. It will be a zoom presentation. The speaker will be Susan Gottlieb. She lives in California. 30 years ago she started transforming her one acre property into a native garden. Now it is one of the premier native gardens in the US. She has over 200 native plants and trees. I hope to see you all next Tuesday at Center 50+ at 7pm. We will have light snacks and door prizes.

Just wanted to pass on the Cascade Nursery plant sale this weekend at Sebright Gardens

Hello everyone we are hosting a meet and greet at Bush Pasture Park Tuesday April 20, 2021. We will have free garden tool sharpening, refreshments and special guest Dan Estacio from Terra Garden nursery and bark. From 1-4. Hope to see you there! We will be located on west side by rose garden.

Our monthly meeting is tomorrow. I hope to see some new faces. It will be the last regular meeting this year. All are welcome to attend. Dan Estacio from Terra Garden is the speaker. The topic will be winter interest in the garden.

Had a great speaker tonight at Center 50+.
Ellen Egan from Egan Gardens showed how to devide perennials and get them ready for winter. We had a great turn out too!

Had a tour of the Pringle Creek Community glass greenhouse. Look at those tomato plants! We enjoyed the history of the buildings and even got to take home some fresh veggies. Thank you Colleen Owen.

These are the green houses that we will tour Saturday. They were built in the 1930s and had to be restored due to damage from sitting vacant for years. They were originally part of the old Fairview property.

We had a great speaker Colleen Owen. She had a slide show featuring the long glass green houses at the Pringle Creek Community. We will be having a tour of them on Saturday September 23 from 10-11 am. Everyone is welcome to join us. If you missed the meeting come see what you missed! See you Saturday. It is located at 3911 Village center Dr SE. It is off Fairview industrial on old strong rd behind the Hoop.

It's that time again our meeting is coming up fast Tuesday the 19th at center 50+ on Portland rd at 7pm. Guest speaker is Colleen Owen she will give us info on the long glass houses at the Pringle Creek Community and how they grow food year round with no heat! And we will follow up with a tour on Saturday the 23rd from 10-11am. Come join us we will have refreshments and door prizes. Hope to see you there.

On Tuesday I went to New Port to take a tour of 3 local gardens. One was at the Community College, another was at the Yaquina Bay lighthouse and one at a senior retirement home. We were shown how tomato's need special treatment to do well because of the cooler temps. My daughter and grandson also came along. The senior center had many different areas depending on mobility of the resident.

We have our guest speaker for our September 19th meeting. It is Colleen Owen. She will have a slide show covering the long glass green houses on the old Fairview property that is now Pringle Creek Community. It's a very green community. To learn more come to our meeting. It's at 7pm at the 50+ center on Portland rd. We will also have a tour of the greenhouses on Saturday September 23rd from 10-11.

Hope everyone's summer is going well. We have our before and after contest still going through September make sure to get pictures. We will choose a winner at the October meeting. New potential members are eligible too! Our next meeting will be September 19th at 7pm at the Center 50+ on Portland Rd. Hope to see many new faces!

Had a great turn out for our picnic at Deepwood Museum Garden tonite. We had 22 members and 3 guests bring a lot of food to share. Everyone went home full! Thank you Yvonne Putze and staff at Deepwood for setting up for us.

Come join us for our annual potluck at Deepwood Estate gardens on July 18th at 5:45 pm. We don't have any meetings until September 19th at 7pm at the 50+center on Portland rd. Hope to see you at the potluck or in September.
