BREAKFAST šŸ³šŸ§€

Chorizo, New Potato, Cheese and Spinach Frittata šŸ’›

This frittata is our new fave and itā€™s SO delicious and versatile. Perfect on its own for breakfast or paired with a side salad for lunch or a light dinner.

You can use all whole eggs and just one type of chorizo if you prefer!
Recipe below ā¬‡ļø

ā€¢5 whole eggs and 5 egg whites (I use burford browns!)
ā€¢2 inches of a precooked chorizo ring, diced
ā€¢8 slices of chorizo, sliced into smaller pieces
ā€¢approx 10 cooked new potatoes, sliced into rounds
ā€¢1 small bag baby spinach leaves, torn
ā€¢grated cheddar cheese (however much you like!)
ā€¢5 spring onions, sliced
ā€¢frylight (butter flavour is best!)
ā€¢chilli flakes and freshly ground black pepper

1) Whisk your eggs and egg whites in a large jug, then add half of the cheese and all of the spinach, mix again and season with chilli, salt and pepper - set aside
2) In a non-stick, oven safe, frying pan, fry the spring onion and chorizo in a little . Keep the heat quite low so the oils release from the chorizo but nothing burns. Remove from the pan with a spoon and set aside (leave the oil in the pan!)
3) Arrange sliced new potatoes on the bottom of the pan, leaving small gaps between them. Cook for a couple of minutes on low
4) Scatter the cooked chorizo and spring onion over the top of the potatoes before pouring over the egg/cheese/spinach mixture. Leave untouched on a medium heat for 4-5 minutes until the top is just beginning to set
5) Sprinkle over remaining cheddar cheese and pop under the grill for another 4-5 minutes or until the top is starting to crisp a little
6) Use a silicone spatula to separate from the edges if needed, and overturn onto a plate to serve šŸ¤¤

Save and make this beauty! You wonā€™t regret it!

Nearly two months off but boy am I happy to be back šŸ’•

Itā€™s been a wonderful break (including Mr and Mrs HWF tying the knot!) but Iā€™m so excited to share some incredible recipes again soon.

First though, some of the delicious food we ate on our Milos Mini Moon šŸ‡¬šŸ‡· if you ever get chance, you must visit this beautiful island!
We stayed at hotel and canā€™t recommend enough.

All of the food was amazing but special shout out to our two faves - and šŸ’™

Veggie breakfast šŸ’ššŸ…

I generally disagree with the claim that ā€˜breakfast is the most important meal of the dayā€™, but when itā€™s this delicious Iā€™m willing to concede.

ā€¢1 egg, 2 egg white (I use egg whites to avoid waste!) omelette with spring onions, cheese and black pepper
ā€¢Mini roasted potatoes with lemon and garlic
ā€¢Garlic mushrooms
ā€¢Roasted cherry tomatoes
ā€¢Spinach leaves with reduced fat feta and balsamic glaze

An absolute belter of a breakfast! I really feel potatoes donā€™t feature in breakfasts enough so Iā€™m taking one for the team and putting them in all of mine šŸ˜‹

Hope youā€™re having the best weekend in the beautiful sunshine ā˜€ļø

Classic comfort food from šŸ¤¤

The perfect Bank Holiday meal - Peanut Chicken Noodle Salad šŸ„œšŸ„¢šŸ„—

Super creamy sauce, crunchy beansprouts, juicy chickenā€¦ the whole thing is just bloody delicious. However, the real stars of the show are the toppings - crispy chillies, garlic, ginger and shallots (and obvs more peanuts) I cannot tell you how good this is.

Please please make this if youā€™ve not tried it before, recipe is on their website!

Hope youā€™ve had a really great Bank Holiday/Coronation weekend ā¤ļøšŸ¤

More pasta p**n šŸ¤¤

Now usually I am not a fan of chicken in pasta (or on pizza!) but I saw this recipe on and knew we would LOVE IT.

Creamy Chorizo Chicken Linguine šŸŒ¶ļøšŸ…

I added fresh and dried chillies, and some cherry tomatoes (obvs) and it was honestly DELICIOUS! Naturally I piled on the parmesan post-photographing.

We seem to have been eating a huge amount of pasta recently so have so gorgeous recipes coming your way soon. In the meantime, head over to their page for this beauty šŸ„°

Sorry Iā€™ve been a little quiet, wedding prep is in full swing and Iā€™ve finally started my new job but I promise Iā€™ll be back to normal soon!

Sticky Salmon and Noodles šŸ„”šŸ„¢

We LOVE this in our house! It is so so quick to make and absolutely delicious. I bulked out the noodles with lots of stir fry veg and bean sprouts but obviously the real star of the show is the salmon šŸ˜

This simple marinade works so well with fish and you can switch up what you serve it with!
I donā€™t measure and just go on taste:
ā€¢Soy sauce
ā€¢Sesame oil
ā€¢Lime juice
ā€¢Honey
ā€¢Ground black pepper
ā€¢Lots of freshly grated ginger
ā€¢Crushed garlic
ā€¢Chopped red chillies

Whisk the marinade and submerge the salmon fillets. I pop it under the grill (skin side down) and turn half way through but if youā€™re really pushed for time you could pan fry!

Any salmon works but I love sockeye salmon fillets šŸ¤¤

Donā€™t forget to save and tag me if you make this šŸ§”

Happy Easter you lovely lot šŸ£šŸ’›šŸ’

Iā€™m currently in Marbella on my hen do, but like the good (future) wife I am, I made Mr HWF an early Easter breakfast before I came! šŸ·

Hot cross buns (obvs ) sliced and soaked in an egg, milk and cinnamon mixture (just like French toast) and fried in butter flavoured . Obvs topped with melted chocolate, smashed mini eggs and crushed raspberries (make it healthy eh?). 10/10 would recommend making this for brunch today!

Hope you all have a wonderful day and that the Easter Bunny has paid you a visit šŸ°šŸ’•

ā„ļø Slow, snowy morning breakfast - details below ā¬‡ļø

My goodness has anyone else tried the new sundried tomato and oregano sourdough from Tesco?! It is a DREAM! šŸ…šŸ¤¤

One of the best things Iā€™ve used it for is this breakfast, and I can 100% recommend. If you can get your hands on it give it a try, otherwise just use regular sourdough.

ā€¢Toasted sourdough with butter šŸ„–
ā€¢Sliced avocado šŸ„‘
ā€¢Slow roasted tomatoes (in olive oil, salt and pepper). I used 4 different types šŸ…
ā€¢Feta cheese (or vegan alternative)šŸ§€
ā€¢Balsamic glaze, chilli flakes and black pepper šŸŒ¶ļø

TIP: donā€™t waste the yummy tomato juices/oil after roasting - drizzle on top for extra deliciousness šŸ˜

5-a-day āœ…
Vegan āœ…
Beautiful āœ…

I used a base of 2 medium frozen bananas, 1 punnet of frozen blueberries, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 teaspoon chia seeds and almond milk.

Add all ingredients to a blender, and start with a small amount of almond milk. If itā€™s too thick, add more milk and blend again. You want an ice creamy texture so it holds well in the bowl!

Top with anything you fancy! I went for strawberries, kiwi, grapes, lychees and pistachio crumbs šŸ¤¤

What a way to start the day!

HWF is back baby! šŸ¾

Thank you so much if youā€™re still here, Iā€™ve been away for nearly three months so appreciate you sticking around ā¤ļø itā€™s been a busy time, weā€™ve been ā€˜dietingā€™ and the damn early sunsets have really ruined my food photographing abilityā€¦ BUT I am thrilled to be back!

I simply could not miss a pancake day post (or two) so today seemed the perfect time to get back down to business.
This is the first of three(!!) pancake plates Iā€™ve done ALREADY today, and itā€™s midday for Christā€™s sake.

Homemade Raspberry Jam and Nutella Pancake ā€˜Sushiā€™ šŸ„¢šŸ«

I love using crushed raspberries with pancakes, cakes, fruit salads or oats! Theyā€™re so tart so work well with other sweeter flavours without it being too sickly. Can highly recommend this for your Pancake Day treat! šŸ’›

HAPPY DIWALI šŸŖ”

Whilst we donā€™t celebrate Diwali, many of my friends and colleagues do - and I love learning about the celebrations, including the food they eat! I think this is our 3rd or 4th year cooking up our very own delicious Diwali feast and itā€™s deffo one of my faves!

These three recipes were taken from and they are *chefs kiss* šŸ˜

ā€¢Kalmi Kebab (chicken drumsticks with cashew and turmeric)

Cost of Living friendly, simple and delicious Corned Beef Hash Pie šŸ„§

I know everyone makes Corned Beef Hash differently, but I do a drier one which is perfect for this pie.

From one batch of hash, I made 3 meals for two of us (6 portions) - brunch, evening meal and lunch šŸ˜ Hash, hot pie with beans and brown sauce, and cold pie with pickles. You honestly cannot go wrong!
Details below.

Hash:
ā€¢2 tins corned beef (removed from tin and cubed)
ā€¢2kg Maris piper potatoes (peeled and cut into 3cm cubes)
ā€¢2 medium white onions (diced)
ā€¢1.5 tbsp
ā€¢1.5 tbsp wholegrain mustard
ā€¢lashings of

Serving:
ā€¢1 block shortcrust pastry (homemade or shop bought)
ā€¢1 tin baked beans
ā€¢Plenty and brown sauce

1) Boil the cubed potatoes in salted water for 10-12 minutes, then drain.
2) In a large bowl, mix the marmite, mustard, hendos and seasoning. Add the cubed corned beef and let marinate while you do step 3.
3) Heat oil in a large frying pan and add the diced onion. Cook for 10 mins or so until theyā€™re softened but still have bite. Add a little more oil and pour in the cooked potatoes. Fry for another 5/10 mins to get crispy edges.
4) Add the corned beef (and remaining marinade) to the pan and cook for 10 mins, squashing some and leaving some in cubes.
Combine everything before serving.

For the pie (make the next day or when the mixture is cool): roll out your pastry and cut in two. Place half on the bottom of a pie tin, fill with the cold mixture, drizzle with Hendos and then top with the remaining pastry. Crimp the edges, poke a couple of air holes in the top, and brush with milk or egg. Bake for 50 mins (cover half way through).

Ricotta whipped with roasted garlic, caramelised shallots and slow roasted tomatoes on crispy ciabatta toast šŸ…

The BEST lunch and super easy to make! Details below ā¬‡ļø

1. Remove the top of a whole garlic bulb and place on a sheet of foil. Top with salt and a drizzle of olive oil before wrapping into a little parcel. Roast for 30-40 minutes.
2. Simultaneously - finely slice banana shallots and arrange in a baking tray with seasoning and olive oil. Top with some halved and some whole cherry tomatoes, add chilli flakes and give everything a good mix. Roast in the same oven as the garlic for 45 mins.
3. In a large bowl, whisk ricotta for a few minutes until it becomes light and airy - a little like a meringue! Season with salt and black pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice (you could also add some ze
4. Remove the garlic from the oven and squeeze the roasted cloves into a small dish, mash with the back of a fork to form a purƩe. Add the garlic to the ricotta and stir to combine.
5. Slice and toast your ciabatta (I do mine under the grill) before topping with the whipped ricotta, tomatoes and shallots, a final helping of black pepper and chilli flakes and some torn basil leaves.

Cost of living šŸ¤šŸ¼ the ā€˜mini-budgetā€™ šŸ¤Æ

Following yesterdays utter s**t show, today seems like a great time to start sharing some tips and recipes to make your money and food go furtherā€¦. letā€™s start with making leftovers THE BEST.

Friday night dinner - mince and dumplings.
Saturday morning - breakfast hash.

Use the leftover meat and veg mixture (I use 5% fat mince, carrots, onions, peas, stock, , and some herbs) to make this glorious breakfast!

Reheat the mixture in a deep frying pan or microwave, add a tin of baked beans and the juices and mix thoroughly (to make this go even further you could add some cubes of cooked potato) - heat until beans are cooked through.

Top with a runny fried egg and some brown sauce and voila! Two meals for the price of one, and a seriously YUMMY brunch šŸ³

Okay, I think itā€™s goodbye summer šŸ„¶

Itā€™s freezing, thereā€™s only 97 days (and five hours) until Christmas, and itā€™s time for cosy dinners šŸŽ„

The most delicious comfort food for dinner here! Tomato, butterbean and cavolo nero stew topped with charred chicken breast and parmesan šŸ‘©šŸ¼ā€šŸ³ *chefs kiss*

Chicken: butterfly chicken breasts, season with black pepper, chilli, garlic and salt. Pan fry until charred.

Stew: on a medium heat, fry diced red onion, fresh chilli and fresh garlic. Add tomato purƩe, black pepper, salt and tinned cherry tomatoes ( purƩe and cherry toms are hands down the best on the market). Add 200ml chicken stock, a tbsp red wine or balsamic vinegar and a large tin of butter beans - leave to simmer for five minutes.
Tear cavolo nero and remove the woody stalks, add to the pan with torn basil leaves and some halved fresh cherry tomatoes. Stir and then top with the cooked chicken breasts - pop on a lid and leave until cavolo nero has wilted.
Top with black pepper and parmesan.

Serve with crusty bread if you need some extra carbs!
SO much better than a Sunday roast šŸ…

The return of Bake Off šŸ¤šŸ¼ cake week šŸ¤šŸ¼ my dadā€™s birthday šŸ§

I went for something completely different this year and tried to combine my dadā€™s childhood favourite (butterfly buns) with his favourite dessert (key lime pie) giving youā€¦. Key Lime Cupcakes šŸ‹

These are a little more effort than a standard cupcake but Iā€™ve been reliably informed the effort is worth it!

The sponge base had egg whites only, sour cream, lime zest AND lime juice - making an extra moist and fluffy cake! The icing was also double limed and finally I topped with crushed ginger nut biscuits as thatā€™s what I use for a key lime pie base. Itā€™s honestly the best flavour combo!

Oh how I love baking when I get the time. Canā€™t wait to do some more now Bake Off is back šŸ¤—
