Sometimes you don't have to travel far!​

With multitudes of wharves all around NZ sometimes keeping it local can produce some cracking fish!​

It's also a perfect spot to take the kids and start them on their fishing journey​.

As the water temps slowly start to rise the snapper move into shallower water and are more consistently caught from the beach.​

While it may take a couple of spot changes or tide movements for the fish to come on the chew the results can be incredible and your perseverance really does pay off.​

Now is an awesome time of the year to target large snapper off the rocks.​

Keep it simple!​

- Lots of berley​

- Heavier trace (we recommend 50-80lb)​

- A 7/0 or larger hook​

- No or very minimal weight depending on the current and depth you are fishing​
