kumaoni people The Armed Forces and the Central Police Organisations have been the major source of employment for the people of Kumaon.

They include all those who speak the Kumaoni language or any of its numerous dialects, living in the Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand, India.
