Thank you to everyone who came to the Guild hall this weekend. It was lovely to see so many people bracing the minus temperatures to come and support us.
And a big Thank you Sally and the Guildhall team who worked hard to make this event possible and went out of their way to keep us as warm as possible in such a beautiful but very old and drafty building.
Happy Festive Season to everyone! Keep warm!
Finished for today. Day 2 tomorrow at the Guildhall, from 11am.

Worth every note they sing!
You have three opportunities to hear Semper Singers this Christmas:
We are singing at the Christmas tree festival at St. Mary Magdalen church in Knighton at 11am on Saturday 2nd December. Admission £2 for adults and free for children.
Then in the evening of Saturday 2nd December we have a carol concert at St. Peter’s church in Copt Oak at 7.30pm. Admission £5.
We are also singing at Quorn Baptist church on Monday 4th December at 7.30pm in a free concert for Women’s Aid Leicestershire - donations.
Both of the evening concerts include young soloists who are taught by our MD Emma Trounson.
We have a wonderful programme of traditional carols with lovely arrangements as well as some favourite Christmas songs. We are delighted to be performing a specially commissioned carol written by one of our young soloists.
Please come and support us.

I've just added a small top up of studs on my webshop.
Such a shame the true colours are so difficult to show on camera.

These lovely collage bookmarks are on sale at my website.
They are made with tiny bits of recycled plastic, stitched onto white paper before being stitched at the recycled Kraft card.
They double as a greeting card (for the ones who like to add special thoughts or messages) and have a made to measure envelope.
Others will be available at the craft fairs.

It's just a few days away...
Too cold for me to work in my studio doesn't mean that I will stop. I moved into the living room, so I can carry on in relative warmth plus chat with my lovely husband (taking him out of his peace and quite more like).
I just hope I didn't aim too high with the number of collage bookmarks. I still have a few more to set before I start stitching and attaching them on their final cards and envelopes.

I will be here on Thursday.
Come and support independent makers.
New notepads and pencil cases. And that's it for now.

Some of the finished pouches.
Not with the best light but it shows how colourful these are.
I'll take these to Wysall and Christmas Craft fairs.

A few top ups on the way for the next craft fairs.
These are some of the new bookmarks I've been working on.
They are made with little pieces of recycled plastics and carefully stitched onto recycled paper, before being attached onto a more sturdy card.
Each have it's own individual envelope.
The idea is that a special message or thought can be written on the back of the card.
The idea of the individual envelope came from the pleasure I have in unwrapping and opening small presents that are offered to me. I thought that there must be more people who feels the same, so there you are.
Not sure about the brown paper background. Going to make with some white and then compare.
Any suggestions?

This month is going to be a busy one. Here is the list of places where I will be. this month and next.
Some will be evening fairs, which is a new one for me. I'm sure it will be lovely, with all the lights and colours and scents (i'm dreaming of the festive season, no doubt)
I will be reminding again closer to the dates, but in the meantime, just pin this onto your calendars.
Our Story
Khulelo started as an experimentation both with soft toys, initially designed for children with special needs and with recycling materials such as paper, fabrics, threads and plastics. But all this has evolved into something more serious.
The recycling has taken off and has turned into small jewellery pieces and small pouches. The soft toys at the moment are made only to order.
Our goods are bright and light, different and fun, and of course unique.
