Like it or not, much like the Catholic church there is a systemic problem in our police forces. And also, much like the church, we see members of the force saying "but I'm one of the good ones."
Here's a tip. If you stand by while your fellow officers brutally hurt people, you're not one of the good ones. If you aren't speaking out against the multitudes of videos showing police officers instigating violence against people who are protesting police violence, you're not one of the good ones. If you see your department trying to dismiss and cover up incidents like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many others, and do nothing, you are at best complicit. Their blood is on the hands of the officers that killed them, yes. But you have some splatter on your badge.
