ED TECH

One of my favorite tech pieces to use during the school year is the ClassVR headsets. Our district has several class sets that we can check out to use. I use these after I teach our Plate Tectonics unit. The students get to explore the Earth, inside and out, getting to further explore the plates and how they work. I love watching their reactions when we use these in class!

Little movie trailers to preview a unit or topic of study. Needed to make sure I didn't forget anything when planning for the use of this edtech.

My morning routine at school starts early and sometimes I get the best photos when I first arrive at school in the morning. This photo was snapped on one of those mornings. I was able to get a good angle of the school building with the sunrise and it turned out great. One of my favorite pictures.

As I begin to start planning for the new year I know I have some reorganizing to do. Our master schedule is changing, some schedule layout is changing, so I'll need to do some reorganizing in my classroom. One of them is going to be this drawer cart. This cart is a LIFE SAVER! I don't know what I would do without it. My desk would probably be a hot mess without it. This is one of my go to things to have in the classroom. I can't function without it now. (I actually have two. haha). What is your go to classroom must have?

I absolutely love taking pictures of cool things. I'm a sucker for trying to take a cool picture. One of my favorites is this one I took from inside the Old State Capital building in Baton Rouge. I love the stained glass dome you see upon entering the building. The colors and the ambiance is amazing.

A throw back pictures to ISTE a year ago in New Orleans. This week is in Philadelphia. Even though I'm not attending this year, I'm definitely catching up on Twitter with all the awesome edtech news and fun from the event. Last year was a blast! I got to have a lot of fun with several of my co-workers and district peeps. We had a BLAST!! I even got to present a poster session and I LOVED IT! I can't wait to go again.

TEACHER POST

Every year you get a new group of students and automatically build relationships with them. I teach both 7th and 8th grade. My 7th graders take the longest to get to know me because none of them have had me before, unlike my 8th graders. This year I had some sweet quiet babies. One of them was in my first hour. He barely said anything. He may say a word here or there with a few students during class, but mostly he stayed quiet.

Then one day we had a lab activity that required them to use their 5 sense to analyze the physical properties of ingredients for a bath bomb. We were working through our chemical reactions anchor phenomenon.

This was his kind of thing. He was completely absorbed in the process, working through each piece in the activity and TALKING so much with his group. I LOVED IT! I couldn't hide the smile I had when I would watch him work with his group during this activity. My teacher heart was so happy to see this side of him that I didn't get to see very often. I can't wait to see how much I can see him do this in 8th grade this upcoming year.

MY CLASSROOM

Sometimes we don't need to stay inside, especially if the weather is nice and we have this awesome outdoor classroom to use. One of the best things you can do is change up your environment every so often with your students. They loved getting to sit out there every so often. What do you like to do for your students on a whim or just to be different?

What is one thing you've gotten from Amazon that has been a gamechanger for your classroom? Mine was a simple desk mat that goes on my teacher desk. It has given me a fantastic work space at my desk.

FUR BABIES
A big part of my life is my fur babies! I have 4 cats and 3 dogs and they're all loved A LOT. Here is my Lola sleeping so good with her tongue sticking out. It's so great to be able to snuggle with them on a daily basis.

INTRODUCTION
Hey everyone! I haven't been around as much on these accounts. Life happened. My name is Samantha of The Magnolia Loft on TPT.

I'm a middle school educator and have been in the classroom 15 years. I absolutely love teaching middle school. I never thought it would be where I would end up, but I wouldn't change it at all.

Most of the past 15 years in the classroom has had me teaching science. I've taught other subjects, but mostly I have taught science. A lot of my resources in my store revolve around science.

My hope is that teachers can find the materials they need to reinforce their lessons or provide something for their students to guide them towards mastery of the content.
