Ideas and Inspiration For Families
http://youtube.com/micahstubz We like to have fun!
One of our favorite things about the internet is the infinite resource of fun and awesome things we can do with our kids. Our goal is to inspire families to be more intentional with their time together.
While we were at a family reunion at Bear Lake we visited Bridgerland Adventure Park and the kids all did a ropes course and alpine tubes. The kids all thought it was challenging and really fun!

We had a nice picnic on the edge of the cliff
Family Picnic On A Cliff - Don't Fall!! Subscribe to FunAwesome!: http://bit.ly/funawesomeWe post videos with inspiration and fun ideas for families (although they're usually fun for anyone!).
Some photos from our visit to Castillo De San Marcos. Did you know that St. Augustine was the first colony in America? It was a Spanish colony so we don't really learn about it as a part of colonial America like Jamestown but it was established 22 years before Jamestown! @ Saint Augustine, Florida
One more reason to not go outside. Brrrr! 🥶
I've decided to start uploading short updates on my new FunAwesome Dad Channel. To get more details on our journey go subscribe there. https://youtu.be/tSoOWLA-xIc
Celebrating birthday during Covid-19 Pandemic Jackson celebrates is 14th birthday during the Covid-19 Pandemic and Quarentine.
Happy 14th Birthday Jackson!
Just outside of Atlanta and decided to check if any victims have reanimated so I know if I need to buy a crossbow. You can't be too safe.

Still in Orlando. We have been reevaluating our next move. It's getting hot here. Friday will hit 91 and they closed the pool at our campground due to the virus that shall not be named. The kids are super bummed about that and are getting a little stir crazy after having a really busy fun week last week. We'll keep you posted as the week progresses. We were going to visit St Augustine but the castle and fort are closed 😢. Everything in Atlanta is closed as well.
I didn't expect such great views in a theme park. @ Disney's Animal Kingdom
Lacey is 12 today! Happy Magical Birthday 🎉
Galaxy's edge is super cool but not a lot for toddlers to do while you wait for rider swap.
Just having a magical day at .kingdom
Vacation Day 1: Epcot kind of strange. It's 4pm and there's nothing really left to do so we are going to call it a day which is good so we can get some errands done before day 2.
Sometimes we find a place for a night to break up a long drive and we wish we could stay longer. The rest and ride in love oak, FL was really pretty when we woke up to leave in the morning. They have a nice duck pond as well. Keep moving is the name of the game but we won't be moving from our current spot for two weeks!
Let's back track a bit to fill in some gaps. On our way out of Texas we stopped in Beaumont at Gator Country to hold baby alligators and other reptiles and animals. The kids really loved it and we spent at least an hour looking at many different breeds.
Our current campsite is right on Mobile Bay in Alabama. They have a 300ft fishing pier so Jackson continues his quest to catch a fish. This morning we had some excitement when we checked the weather there was a tornado watch for our area and so we decided to prep the kids in case we had to take shelter in the park bathhouse. The kids got a little worried and dramatic but nothing more than a little rain came. PS- for those interested in following the journey, would you rather see photos of the scenery or of us doing stuff? I kind of like capturing nice landscapes.
Vote for the best sunset of our first month. We've been living in an RV for over a month now! Crazy!
1. Alabama
2. Louisiana
3. Texas 1
4. Texas 2
5. New Mexico
The kids discovered the coolest Live Oak tree. It was too big to even get a good picture of you could climb it from the end of the branches that touch the ground.
The last day or two it seemed like nothing was really going right. I could list many things (ie, hotel pool was not indoor like we expected, all three of us boys came down with a cold, Sarah's birthday massage had a scheduling mix-up and fell through, and several other small things) but we pulled out some good old fashion family time picnic at LSU and got pictures with Mike The Tiger. I hadn't known there was a tiger habitat right next to the stadium. It was really cool. All things considered, it ended up being a fun night together. Now the girls are going to pamper Sarah with a mani-pedi in their hotel room and watch little women. @ LSU - Mike's Habitat
Chase has had a fun morning, so far. Everyone was so generous and sweet to their favorite little brother. He got a little bit of all his favorite things and is in heaven.
With I find we end up outside for sunset more often than"normal" life. Tonight we did a campfire which is kind of a hassle living in an RV because then everything smells like campfire. So right after roasting hot dogs and s'mores we made everyone shower and I'm running all the clothes to the laundromat that is less than 100 yards from our spot. @ Lake Conroe RV & Camping Resort
San Antonio is in the books. Finally got to the Alamo and river walk plus we had fun at mi tierra restaurant. @ The Alamo
Skipping rocks in our new backyard on a lake.
Head over to to hear the spooky story of the cave cricket and the horsehair worm. We made the trek to the middle of nowhere to explore the . It is a huge cavern with a lot of cool formations. We didn't do the natural entrance because Lacey is healing from toenail surgery this week. We took the elevator in and out but it is still a good hike, especially carrying a two year old. @ Carlsbad Caverns National Park
We bought this beast over 4.5 years ago because it has great towing capacity and can fit our entire family comfortably. It has taken us to Nauvoo, IL and back. To Yellowstone, several California trips and now it is finally pulling our home around the country.
These two are a powder keg. I hope they can always be best friends and get along because went they ain't happy in the RV ain't nobody happy.
The morning rain left this puddle we found at sunset. Stay tuned for plenty of great photos from white sands.
Day 1 is in the books. We drove by the Gila valley temple then to Deming, NM where we got to swim and relax in the hot tub. The next morning we went to church only to find that we were attending a Spanish branch so the kids got some good language immersion and I had a chance to use my Spanish I learned on my mission to Ecuador almost 20 years ago. @ Deming, New Mexico
Yesterday, in Salt lake City, I got my second consecutive fortune related to travel and now I'm back in AZ and we have officially moved into our travel trailer full-time. Today we have been getting organized. It has been a much bigger challenge compared to taking a one week trip. We had to downsize 3600 sqft into about 250 sqft. This dream is getting super real and I'm excited and nervous and last night I was really tired and stressed. We had to finish getting the house ready for renters who moved in today. I plan on sleeping well tonight.
Planning a five month road trip is much more difficult than I expected. So many variables at play, timing, budget, weather, friends and family and trying to maximize what we do and see. I don't think 5 months is long enough to do this trip while working but we'll do our best and be flexible. There are only a few days set in stone. What are some places you recommend or are on your bucket list near this path?
Who's ready for an adventure? Big changes for our family are happening and it's stressful but I believe that if you always stock with what's comfortable and easy then you miss out on opportunities for growth. Who will these kids be in six months? We are preparing for a 5 month road trip along the east coast and our launch date is quickly approaching!
The kids have produced their first video as owners of the YouTube channel. Jackson's goal is to get to 100K subscribers. I gave him a head start but, unfortunately, we've been slowly losing subscribers for over a year. We'll see if he can turn things around. With Bob-ra Ross and SiSi's Fairy Lessons, I think they might have some success. Link to the video in the comments of this post.
Happy New Year! 2019 was fun but 2020 is going to one for the books. I let the kids know that I'm handing the YouTube channel over to them and I've started a new channel. Plus, we are preparing for a HUGE road trip this year. Stay tuned for more about that in the coming weeks and check out the new channel. You can search for FunAwesome Dad on YouTube. I already have a few videos up.
