Alaskan Fr-amily Cruise
Friends and Family Cruise
Don't forget to pack a pair of binoculars!!! Maybe two if you're not good at sharing!!!
112 days to go!!!
If you are wondering if you should buy some cruise luggage tags, the answer is YES. Before the cruise you will print off your luggage tags. You will not need to attach these luggage tags to your bags before dropping them off at the port. Before we had these we were scrambling at the hotel trying to find a stapler to attach our tags. Here are some on Amazon. Does anyone else have any cruise essentials???

YOU GUYS!!!! 124 days left. I have important info so please read!!!
I have contacted Norwegian and requested a party for all of us to meet and hang out. I requested 3:30 on boarding day so that we will still have time to get to the sail away party at 5 and get ready for dinner that day. I requested drinks and hor d'oeuvres and anything else we can get.
I'm trying to plan a few really fun things for our group. Please do not feel obligated to participate in anything you do not want to do!! It's all for fun!
I thought it would be fun to have a funny sunglasses exchange during our meet and greet. So if you would like to participate in this please bring a super crazy pair of sunglasses to exchange and we could wear them at the sail away party on the LIDO deck.
The slot pull is scheduled for 10AM on OCT 2, the first sea day. This is a really fun event and I have opened it up to those on the other facebook group so we should have a great turnout.
I am working with a company for our tee shirts. We thought it would be fun to have matching shirts while we boarded so we could recognize each other. I will have more details on that soon. If we could just wear them to board and then for our group party to get some pictures that would be awesome!!
Roxann and I thought it would also be fun to have a group dinner at Teppanyaki-the hibachi grill-on the night of the 2nd. I THINK we can start making reservations on the 3rd so I can send a group text that morning to remind everyone and to set a time. We have found that early dinner usually works well so that you still have the whole evening to enjoy the activities around the ship. Maybe all of us can wear a Hawiian shirt that night??
I want to do a door decoration contest. We will find a non-bias person to judge and I'll have a fun prize for the winner. Remember the doors or walls around the doors are magnetic so you can bring things to hang that are on magnets.
While talking to Norwegian I asked about theme nights, they only have 1 formal during this week. Also, they have a glow party or white night. So no 80's night or pirate night or anything like that. Our family is probably gonna dress up 2 nights-just cause....why not?!?!?!
That's all for now. If anyone has any other suggestions of fun events we can do as a group please let me know!!! And if there are any questions that we can help with we will do our best!! Or if you have a question for Norwegian call 1-866-234-7350. They were very helpful.
Y'all I'm soooo excited to be on this journey with all of you. We are gonna have a crazy good time and make lifelong friendships and memories!!! Love you all HUGE!!!
Hey if anyone wants to participate in our Hawaiian shirt night, here is a link for some shirts that are all on sale right now!!

Hey Guys-Only 169 days until CRUISE DAY!!!
I would like to be more active on this page and really get all of us talking about our upcoming cruise. I will be organizing a few events for us during the cruise, AND if anyone has any suggestions of something they would like to do please let me know OR organize it if you would like to. Here is a list of some things I'm going to start working on.
1. Slot Pull-these are really fun. Basically everyone puts in $20, we pick a $5 machine in the casino. Everyone gets 4 turns on the machine and we split the pot. Or sometimes we let it ride if the group decides to.
2. Door Decorating Contest. We will have a friendly competition for who can create the best looking door at sea. I will have a prize for the winner. If you need some inspiration, there are a ton of ideas online!!
3. Gift exchange. We have done this several times and it's a lot of fun. You just grab a few little gifts for each cabin involved (usually in groups of 5) and then you receive gifts in return. We have received items such as shot glasses, koozies, candy, hats etc. Alot of people like to bring something from their hometown or state.
4. Hawiian shirt night. Norwegian does hold some theme nights, which I will try to post more on that in the days to come. Roxann suggested we do a Hawiian shirt night for dinner which is a great idea!!
Let me know your thoughts-Also, there is another Facebook group that is specific to our cruise. If you haven't already joined that, you should check it out. I will probably open up our slot pull to that group as well-the more people we have the more fun it is-and better chance we have to hit big.
Picture is from one of our previous Alaskan Cruises. We did a whale watching excursion in Juneau.
Creek Street is one of our favorite spots in Ketchikan. There are some neat little shops with unique items.
This pic of Becca holding an adorable Alaskan husky puppy is from our Alaska 2019 cruise excursion into the Yukon Mountains where we got to visit a musher camp. I had to keep an eye on Becca so she didn’t slip that dog under her coat and smuggle it out of the camp!
I contacted NCL today about a price drop. They were able to keep drop the price $166 and we still have all of our add-ons that came with our package. We can do that up until 120 days before the cruise. ~ Jason
Hey Y'all!!! I think I just made everyone an admin on this page so you can post. Only 320 days!!!
This is at Emerald Lake in the Yukon Mountains located in Skagway. This was an excursion we took on our last Alaskan cruise in 2019. There is no filter on this picture, it was breathtaking!!!! Anyone looking at any excursions yet??
Hey Fr-amily!!!! Hope everyone is well!! Just want to put this out there that I hope everyone knows they can post any kind of comment/question/recommendation or just anything really!!
I did have a question for everyone... We are planning on coming a day early (I think everyone is). Would anyone like to get an Air BNB with us? I think several people have friends or family in the Seattle area that they are planning on meeting up with the night before the cruise so if we wanted to get a big house and just have a big dinner there we could. Any thoughts or ideas?? Also, I'm thinking we need to have a group shirt made. I'll try to come up with a few ideas and let everyone vote!!
Teppanyaki is a hibachi restaurant on the Jewel. We have eaten here and it is DELICIOUS!!!!! Our family will definitely be doing this!!! You do need reservations for specialty restaurants and it is an additional charge, this one is absolutely worth it!! Here is their menu.

364 Days Y'all!!! Next year is a leap year.
Hello fellow cruisers. Everyone included on this page is either already booked for the Alaskan Cruise in October of 2024, or is thinking about booking. This page will just allow us to get to know each other better, share tips, make plans and make memories. Please feel free to post questions, answers, pictures, tips and just anything really. Some of us have been to Alaska. Some of us have never even cruised. But one thing is for sure......this cruise will be EPIC!!
This cruise started with my step-mom, Roxanne Watkins. She asked if we could do a family cruise which has grown to a Fr-amily (Friends who are close enough to be family (inspired by a kitchen towel)) cruise. Here we are exactly one year away. Hope it goes by quick!!
