Bocephus Blue & the Tragic Love Song Band
We make music. We call it Heavy Folk. It's tragic.
Nigel here. Sit back, there’s a story behind this song.
Sometimes when we were rehearsing, the band would break out into a jam. We’d usually riff on two chords and Logan or I would call out lyrics to some obscure song. One time while jamming in Em and G, I sang out lines from The Hammer Song by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. One lyric stuck: Don’t Let the Sun Go Down.
Some time later, Logan and I decided to write a song based on that theme. We texted each other lyrics one day and came up with the verses. The original chorus was a mistake. My coworker, who was on her lunch break, suggested I take my break. I texted back with “I can’t leave ‘til you get back.” Only I sent it to Logan who loved the line. Years later, I decided to rewrite the chorus as I was never satisfied with it. Logan insisted that I leave that line in there an I reluctantly agreed.
This demo is the closest thing there is to an official recording of this song. We disbanded before properly recording it. It was slated for the next album that never happened.
WOAH! Been awhile since we’ve been here!

Thanks to everyone that came out to see us over the last several years. We are heartbroken after learning that ‘Bo passed recently. Send thoughts and prayers.
