OMV and Synthos jointly enable the production of sustainable rubber for high-performance tires 🛞
Both companies will cooperate on sustainability, focusing in particular on the supply of sustainable raw materials that can be used to manufacture high-performance tires.
Synthos will use the butadiene to produce Solution Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (S-SBR), which is used in high performance tire tread compounds for low rolling resistance, which means reducing the energy loss of a tire rolling on the road. This in turn increases the vehicle’s energy efficiency 🏎️ and reduces environmental impact 💚.

OMV proudly announces the donation of 400 laptops to elementary schools in Lower Austria.
Recognizing the paramount importance of digital literacy at the primary school level, OMV has committed to advancing education by providing 400 functional laptops to 37 schools in Lower Austria. These laptops, retired from their life cycle, will contribute to enhancing the digital learning experience for students.
This initiative is part of OMV's commitment to social responsibility, aligning with the "cody 21" project, a digital education program offered free of charge to partner schools in 2022. Through "cody 21," elementary school students gain access to interactive educational content via digital platforms.

Another steps to a sustainable future 🔄💚
Today, OMV and Interzero mark a significant milestone as we break ground for Europe's largest plastic waste sorting facility for chemical in Walldürn, Baden-Württemberg.
Our new sorting facility is a crucial building block for OMV’s transformation, expanding on our circular ambitions with our patented ReOil technology. It will sort mixed plastic waste and ensure a steady flow of those "hard-to-recycle" plastics to our ReOil plant in OMV Schwechat Refinery.

This is exactly what we are doing with our patented OMV Glycerin2Propanol technology. Watch the birth of the new demo plant at the OMV refinery in Schwechat, where sustainable fuels will be produced from glycerin in 2024.

OMV and Wien Energie are joining forces to deliver the heating transition 💚
We want to develop deep geothermal plants 🌡️ with output of up to 200 megawatts, thereby generating climate-neutral district heating for the equivalent of up to 200,000 Viennese households 🏡.

It was a great honor to host the traditional OMV Loyalty Ceremony at Palais Niederösterreich. CEO Alfred Stern honored 119 OMV employees, who have contributed to OMV’s success since 25, 35, 40 or even 45 years. Together with his colleagues on the Executive Board, Mr. Stern presented the certificates and congratulated each jubilarian, expressing their sincere appreciation.

You may have realized throughout this Instagram series that innovation plays a big role here at OMV.
What drives us is the idea of re-inventing essentials for a more sustainable way of living. We are currently exploring innovative technologies in the areas of sustainable energy, sustainable mobility and circular economy. And we are convinced that this innovation power will shape our future.
Photovoltaics ☀
In order to supply our production facilities with green electricity, OMV constructed the largest photovoltaic plant in Austria at that point in time.
Those 45,000 PV modules allow us to save 14,000 metric tons of CO2 each year, that’s approximately the annual electricity consumption of 4,400 households. Innovation
Rethink ‘rubbish’ as a valuable resource 🗑️➡️⭐
This week marks the celebration of Zero Waste Week, a global initiative dedicated to reducing waste and promoting a more sustainable way of living. It serves as a reminder that our everyday choices can significantly impact the environment.
Therefore, the concept of circular economy ♻️ is a key focus area of OMV's strategy. As a leading polyolefin and fuels producer, we proactively drive the transition from a linear to a circular economy.

Supporting you to balance your family and work-life ⚖️
It’s a wrap, another summer of fun has come to a close for our Summer Kids Camp 2023 🌞! Over three weeks, more than 200 kids 🧒 from OMV and Borealis employees between ages 6 to 12 enjoyed a jampacked schedule full of exploration, sports ⛹️, entertainment, and fun 😝.
We’re already looking forward to the next Summer Kids Camp 2024!
