Tina Grünsteidl alias Tina 303 ist eine der Gigant*innen, auf deren Schultern – frei nach Isaac Newton – alles steht, was in dieser Stadt (aber nicht nur da) so an Techno-derivierter Club-Musik zu hören ist. Lange Zeit war sie DJ, Veranstalterin und infektiös launige Ko-Moderatorin der FM4-Sendung La Boum Deluxe, Jahre davor aber schon (genau genommen seit 1992) neben Electric Indigo DIE treibende, weibliche Kraft hinter dem Wiener Techno-Rave und -Club-Boom, wenn sie zwischendurch nicht gerade New York, Köln oder Berlin unsicher machte.
„Ich spiel noch Vinyl, ich kann nix anfangen mit Dateien“, sagte sie, auf ihre typisch robuste Art, als sie letztes Jahr im Meatcast von Gerald van der Hint zu Gast war, „Friß oder stirb, ehrlich jetzt, i kann nix anders.“ Was Tina 303 dabei sonst noch im Vorbeiflug über ihre ersten drei Jahrzehnte Techno-Kultur erwähnte (die Arbeit mit ihrem besten Freund DJ Rok in Berlin, aus der unter anderem der Klassiker „the cheap stuff“ hervorging, die vereinende Funktion der Plattenläden, die kleinen Techno-Inseln in der House- und Hip Hop-dominierten amerikanischen Club-Landschaft der Nineties), schreit eigentlich danach, einmal ordentlich aufgeschrieben zu werden.
Einstweilen ist Grünsteidl aber offenbar immer noch viel zu beschäftigt damit, das Recht der Menschen auf Party zu behaupten, zum Beispiel mit ihren DJ-Sets beim Old-School-Club LOOP im Fluc, nach dem Motto „Maximum Rave, not minimal techno“, wo prinzipiell nichts nach 1994 Erschienenes auf die Plattenteller kommt. Das soll nicht heißen, dass Tina 303 nostalgisch oder rückwärtsgewandt wäre, ganz im Gegenteil: „Die Leut sind heute viel cooler als wir früher waren“, sagt sie. Allerdings: „Es gibt viel zu wenig blöden Techno da draußen.“ Und das wird Tina 303 beim Popfest bekämpfen. Und zwar ausschließlich mit Vinyl.
