Start marking your calendars for Saturday, 5/28/22:
From May 28 through June 10, 2022, there will be a 14-day Disaster Preparedness sales tax holiday for items including flashlights, radios, tarps, batteries, and fire extinguishers, providing $25.6 million in tax relief.
Pet items will be included for the first time. At the request of Girl Scout Troop 60601 in Palm Harbor, lawmakers agreed to lift sales taxes on certain pet supplies for the upcoming two-week disaster-preparedness tax holiday. You will be able to purchase the following items without paying sales tax:
β‘οΈWet pet food in cans or pouches that cost $2 or less
β‘οΈDry pet food containers weighing 15 pounds or less
β‘οΈCat litter pans and waste disposal bags costing $15 or less
