I bought my first used Canon DSLR in October 2010. It has opened up a whole new way of looking at th
Happy New Year 2024! Time to "shake off" the last year and work towards a happier, healthier new year.
This Onaqui stallion had just gone to the watering hole. Then rolled on the ground to take a dust bath. I love catching the dust cloud when they get up and shake!
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! I could not find a turkey image so I thought I'd share this Osprey parent bringing in a meal for it's juvenile. We saw this while on our Oregon trip. Hoping everyone has a wonderful meal today too! We aren't celebrating until Saturday with the kids and grandkids. So I will spend a quiet day catching up on editing pictures from the grandsons sports and birthdays.
One week to go before I head out on an adventure with my friend. We are going to Oregon for the first time. Hoping to photograph lots of horses, waterfalls and whatever else we find.
Happy 4th of July! Life has been a little busy with the new house. We had a storm come through Friday and knock out electricity for the entire town. Thankfully ours was restored last night. I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe celebration for the 4th.
Good morning everyone! It's been awhile since I've posted. Moving into a new house after 28 years in our other home has been more difficult than I thought. After being empty nesters for many years it hasn't been an easy transition to have my mom with us. But we are next door to my daughter, son in law and two grandsons and it's been wonderful to see them more often. And we are doing some remodeling in the new house so that keeps us busy. My husband, Cooper and I are heading out to Utah soon on a much needed trip.I hope everyone who reads this is happy, healthy and doing well in this chaotic thing we call life.
Happy New Year 2023 everyone! May this year bring joy and happiness to us all.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! We are spending a Christmas day with our boy Cooper. He loves to play in the snow. We did get a little snow but it is extremely cold this year. The kids and grandkids will be over tomorrow to celebrate. I hope all of you who celebrate have a wonderful day filled with good food, lots of love and a few gifts under the tree.
We have snow and bitter cold in our forecast this week here in Missouri. I'd be much more excited if we had mountains and mountain goats too! This image was taken at Mount Evans in Colorado.
I took this image right before this owlet was ready to leave it's home. Tonight is the last night in our home of 28 years. The movers will be here in the morning. It's hard to leave the comfort of what's been your life for so long. But like this owlet, change is inevitable and we have to move on to the next phase of our lives.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! We will be spending it painting our new house to get it ready to move into. Usually we have the kids and grandkids over for dinner. But I did get a small turkey for just my husband and I. I hope your day is filled with family, good food and happiness.
When I first started out with this hobby my main goal was to get beautiful, sharp images. Now I take photographs to create memories. I smile every time I see this photo. We stopped in Red Lodge Montana to get gas and lunch. Two moose walked across the parking lot while I was pumping gas. I was SO excited! Then they went over to a nearby home and feasted on the apple tree. Memories made!
I am loving the wonderful cool fall mornings we are having here in Missouri. But this adorable chunky prairie dog is already getting ready for cold winter! The seasons of our lives can bring big changes too. We are moving from our small home of 28 years into a larger home for my 80 year old mom to live with us. Changes can be difficult, but life goes on and we have to make the best of what time we have on this earth. I hope you all are doing well and staying safe, healthy and happy.
Happy first full day of Fall! This eagle image has beautiful fall colors in the background. Our weather here in Missouri has finally cooled down. We came home 2 days early from our Nevada Trip. We had a crazy adventure with thick wildfire smoke and haze, flash flooding, hail and lots of wild horses! I will try to edit a few images from our trip soon.
We are headed out this morning for my friend's 50th birthday trip! We will be going to Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and Colorado. Most of the time will be spent with the wild horses. 12 days of nature, photography and fun adventures of being on a road trip! I don't edit images while I'm traveling. But hopefully I will have a lot to share with you after we get home.
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Life has been a little rough. My 80 year old mom has fallen twice and broke her nose this last time. We are looking for a larger home so she can move in with us. I look at this image and it makes me realize even through the storms in our life there is hope that there is a rainbow at the end of our struggles. I will be leaving in 2 weeks for a much needed road trip to Nevada. Hoping to see lots of beautiful wild horses!
Happy Mother's Day! One of my greatest joys in life has been my 2 children and now being a grandma to 4 wonderful grandsons. I hope everyone has a great day!
Happy New Year's Eve! I am hoping and dreaming of a new year with better health, less stress and hopefully at least one trip out west to see the wild ones. Photographing wild horses brings me so much peace in these crazy times we live in. My wish for all of us is that 2022 brings us peace, love, good health and a life well lived. Thank you all for your likes, comments and shares!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from my family to yours! I hope everyone has a wonderful celebration with family and friends. We are just having a small gathering with my mom, kids and grandkids. So thankful for the trips I was able to go on in 2021 but also ready for this crazy year to come to an end. I am hoping that 2022 will be better for all of us! Make those memories and stay safe.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! We will be spending a quiet day with my mom. Then we will have the kids and grandsons over on Sunday. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with family, friends and lots of good food!
I wanted to share an image from our visit to Monument Valley. As a photographer I am very seldom in front of the camera. I turn my DSLR on "easy "mode so my husband can take pictures of me and our boy Cooper.
Update: My mom is home from her knee replacement surgery. She is staying with us. It has been a very rough week, but hopefully she will start feeling better soon.
My birthday trip was wonderful! Although I did not plan to see any "wild" horses we managed to see about 100 Navajo reservation horses along some of the roads we traveled. I will try to edit a few images to share in the coming weeks. But I will be busy taking care of my mom who is having knee replacement surgery this morning. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a good outcome and speedy recovery. Thank you!
It's been awhile since I have posted. Life sometimes gets chaotic and I find it hard to sit down and edit images. I've been very busy with doctor appointments for myself and my mom. She will finally be having knee surgery in mid October. So my husband and I will be taking a quick trip out west for my 57th birthday in 2 weeks. I won't be visiting any wild horse areas. I am very saddened that hundreds of the wild horses I have shared with you have since been rounded up by the BLM ( Bureau of Land Management). I'm not sure when I will be back out to see them and it will be sad knowing many that I love are gone now, including this stallion from Sand Wash in Colorado. I can only hope he is still wild and free.
Happy 4th of July! My husband, dog and I are in Colorado celebrating our 35th Anniversary.(early, it's in August) We will be going to lots of waterfalls and will be visiting Mt.Evans where this image was taken. Hope to see some wildlife but the focus is on just making memories. Have a safe holiday weekend!
Memorial Day. Remembering those who sacrificed it all. I am thankful for the freedom I have because of the brave men and women who have died and for those who still serve to protect us all.
I always look forward to seeing the Bighorn Rams at Badlands National Park. These young boys are shedding their winter coats and practicing some head butting for when they get to be big boys.
Thanks for all the likes, comments and shares. Have a great day!
For most of you this image won't be too exciting. But I have been wanting to see a Porcupine for a long time! We were driving through Badlands and saw what I thought was a nest in a tree. But when it moved I was SO excited! We did not get too close so we would not disturb it. But just to see one for the very first time was such a thrill!
Thanks for the likes, comments and shares. Have a great day.
A closer image of the beautiful "curly" foal from Salt Wells in Wyoming. I have been so very blessed to travel to see so many wild horses in many states. It's sad that so many are being rounded up and will lose their freedom. I hope to get to many more wild horse areas in the next few years while they are still wild and free! Thank you for liking, commenting and sharing. I appreciate your support and hope you find joy in seeing these beautiful horses.
Finally getting to edit a few more images from our girl's trip. These two sweet little foals are from Sand Wash in Colorado. As soon as I get home I start dreaming about and planning another trip. My 35th anniversary is coming up in August but we may have to go earlier in July. Waterfalls and wild horses are the plan. Then for my 57th birthday in October when the weather is cooler we(husband and dog) are doing Utah National Parks and Monuments. Traveling brings me so much peace and I hope my health allows me to go on many more trips before I physically can't do what I love anymore. I also hope my images bring happiness to those who can't travel. Thank you all for liking, commenting and sharing! Have a wonderful day.
Happy Mother's Day! We got home yesterday afternoon from our trip out west. We saw hundreds of wild horses and very few people. It was so nice to be out in nature. This sweet little "curlie" foal was curious but stayed close to it's momma. It is from the Salt Wells horses in Wyoming. Hope all the moms have a wonderful day.
Can't believe it is finally here! Heading out early tomorrow morning to spend a week with the wild ones! Hoping for some good stallion action and lots of cute little foals.
