With the assistance of Newquay Tretherras school we are stripping down and recycling 500 broken boards this Saturday 06 November. This represents a third of what was collected this summer from our beaches😡Helping hands are very welcome.
Location: Newquay Tretherras School, Sports Hall.
Time : 10.30.
Bring: Scissors and a smile.

1 Summer 1 Beach. It's an environmental tragedy.
1 summer, 1 beach. 😞
Today we collect this pile of snapped, cracked, bust and split bodyboards. Collected Summer 2021.
Same old story? It's out of control! A huge amount of plastic that has travelled 11,000 miles to end up as waste. People and the planet are seriously ripped off!
We haven't counted them yet and we will let you know numbers before we send them off to be processed and recycled. Not looking forward to stripping the covers off all of these!
Thanks to Jack at Surf South West (pictured) for giving us some scale of the wall of snappers & thanks to Parkdean Resorts for collecting these for us.
We are busy working with groups on other beaches to collect snapped boards. The pile is huge.
If your a campsite, resort or similar looking at this please get in-touch. We are running our waveofwaste bodyboard hire scheme as we need to stop the demand for these cheap disposable rubbish boards.

Positive action from accomodation providers. The amount of snapped boards we are collecting this Summer is scary
Wonderful work collecting these in Newquay and organising recycling bins at 6 beaches. Shocking amounts all around our beautiful coastlines.
A wonderful County full of great organisations protecting their local patch. Well done Clean Cornwall .

Free wooden bellyboards for hire in push against pollution It comes after more than 400 polystyrene bodyboards were discarded on one beach in 2020.

First UK seaside village to stop selling cheap polystyrene bodyboards.
Plastic Free Torridge, Plastic Free North Devon and Keep Britain Tidy are today announcing a ban on selling cheap polystyrene bodyboards in Westward Ho! Every independent retailer in the village from the Post Office to the shops on the Slipway will not be selling cheap polystyrene bodyboards this coming summer.
Businesses putting the planet first & the first location in the UK....isn't it brilliant !
