Working as a one-woman-show to build up the Polish market from scratch is a huge challenge. So we asked our General Manager Poland, Anna Szczygielska, about her motivation and tips to disconnect and calm down.

Of course, we wear a medical mask on all our walks through the office, because Corona still accompanies us. Just as as we are on our work, we also have a lot of fun doing it, which is why we also use the rooftop for a meeting, like our Italian Department in picture six. And of course, the balance must not be missing for a pleasant working in which we can all work productively.

viafintech turns 10 and that’s a reason to celebrate! In 10 years, we have grown from a German niche cash product to an international tech player. That’s why we will give you some more insights on our product viacash in the next weeks.

It is no secret that Japan attaches great importance to hygiene. This even goes so far that banknotes are heated before they are dispensed at ATMs. This is supposed to protect against germs and reduce infections. Nevertheless, Australian banknotes are even cleaner.

Spending time in foreign countries got rare due to the Corona pandemic. That is why we asked one of our interns Laura Atzori what motivated her to leave Italy and come to Germany in such unplannable times.

We recently moved to a beautiful new office at “Bikini Berlin” in Charlottenburg right next to the Zoo. One of the many advantages is a generous rooftop terrace with a breathtaking view over Tiergarten.

Most of us used it as children: toy money simply made of paper or plastic. To learn arithmetic at school or in our free time while playing "shopping".
But plastic money doesn't automatically mean worthless toys. Some countries incorporate plastic into their banknotes, others rely on it completely.
Euro banknotes, by the way, are made of cotton-based security paper.

Robin Temme joined our team in December 2018 and we asked him why he has decided to work for viafintech.

After the end of World War I, Germany had to pay reparations to the victorious powers. This had been stipulated in the Treaty of Versailles.

However, the young democracy was so indebted that the government had no alternative but to print money. This led to a rapid devaluation of cash, so that wages had to be paid daily and banknotes were nothing more than worthless paper.

To stop inflation, a new currency was introduced in 1923: the Rentenmark.
