Home - Penny Elsley
The amazing Penny Elsley www.pennyelsley.com has designed a series of 'Joining the Dots in Your Life' retreats which should be amazing because she really has some of the best experience in this of anyone I know.
Each retreat will take place with just a small group of 4 people in the comfort of the ‘retreat feel’ of her home and it’s bushland setting at the foot of Mt Ainslie in Canberra. This is a place where attendees will experience her joy of hosting, an abundance of scrumptious and nourishing food and a safe space to enter into this deeper work.
The content of the retreat is a balanced mix of information about tools and approaches as well as guided exercises that unlock individual wisdom and draw on each person's unique experiences. Attendees will be introduced to Theory U and other systems thinking frameworks and learn how to apply these to guide their own practices.
The flow of the program will allow time for intensive learning, sharing, deep listening and exploration while also allowing time to integrate other beneficial aspects such as time in nature, time for quiet reflection and sharing meals and generally observing some of the design elements of my own home set-up and my library of books and materials.
Participants will come away feeling more connected to themselves, clearer about their vision for all aspects of their life and how different parts can support the flourishing of the other parts. When we come from a more connected place, we draw from a deeper pool of wisdom and strength and this in turn gives fuel to our courage and creativity and sees us launching into "action".
Suitable for anyone at any stage of their life or career, anyone seeking to operate from a more integrated sense of self and create a connected vision for their personal and professional life, in line with their priorities and values. A great way to start the year!

::::::::::::::: LONG AND IMPORTANT POST :::::::::::::::
We are Sydney’s not-profit, zero-waste workplace coffee supplier. We’re launching for people and for the planet.
We started Bugisu Project last year after four weeks working on produce farms in northern Uganda. Inspired by the people we met, we had a simple idea – sell Uganda’s specialty coffee in Australia and circulate profits back to where they can do the most good.
This video tells the story of the 12-month journey since that trip. It hasn’t been as smooth as the video makes it out to be, and boy we’ve learned a lot. It’s been incredible… and incredibly far from simple.
We think what we’re doing is important. We’re actually a real deal and it’s not just us two. In the video, you’ll see some awesome people who’ve helped us figure out how to do this thing properly. These people are everywhere:
We wouldn’t be launching now without support from the amazing UNSW community. Same goes for the warm-welcomes and insights from Zukuka Bora Coffee Company on Mt. Elgon. As with the belief of Caitlin Barrett from Love Mercy Foundation, innovations from Raise The Bar and the commitment and genius of Dan Okinong, our first friend in Uganda. We’ve heard advice and received immense support from all walks of life.
A special shout-out to our team behind the scenes (Bri, Mon, Annabel, Bails, Lugg, Bertie, Reubs, Ryno) and UNSW Media students Anna and Emily who co-produced this video. You’re all legends.
We’re committed to procuring and delivering coffee in the fairest and most well considered manner possible. We’re committed to equality, interactivity, transparency and the environment. This is a co-creation across our entire value chain and our aim is to inspire better business – from coffee to impact to sustainability to circularity.
Circularity?
Yep. Our coffee is grown in Uganda and sold in Australia, with all profits circulating back to fund important programs where our coffee is grown. Not because we’re charity heroes, but because it makes sense. We also collect our waste coffee from companies after it’s been enjoyed and use it to make cool new products … like hand-soap. Not because we’re greenie hippies, but because it makes sense. Circularity: a simple, but powerful concept and one we want to see more of.
We’re a proudly certified Australian charity and a youth-led social business.
We’ve got five amazing companies onboard, including Australia’s best workplace, and one immediate goal: sign on twenty more for our launch in early January.
So please, pull all your mates together for two minutes and watch our story. If you love it, call your boss and say you’re not coming back until they stock your office kitchen with Bugisu coffee. It’s an easy and powerful switch. Also, hit the share button – that could well inspire someone else to call their boss.
~ Brody and Darcy
TLDR; there’s heaps of awesome people helping us create something we think is really important. Welcome aboard!

ChangeCamp AU
Social Innovation Sydney is changing
After discussions about the next stage for Social Innovation Sydney we've agreed co-create a new model and become a collaborative community under the ChangeCampAU model. We feel that there is a strong alignment between our two groups and both are focused in very similar ways. And we feel that joining forces will make both groups stronger.
Selena, Amelia, and I will be working out all of the details over the next few weeks. So keep an eye out for more updates. One positive side to this next stage in our evolution will be more activities.
Here is a link the last ChangeCampAU event https://www.facebook.com/ChangeCampAU/?fref=ts
ChangeCamp is about grassroots social change, active citizenship and DO-ocracy.
It's an unconference for people and organisations who want to make a difference in their community. It’s about community driven social change, active citizenship and collaboration for social impact. Our first ChangeCampAU was held in Sydney on the 1st of July and it’s already had an impact!
Watch this space, and get in touch with the team at engage2 if you want to get involved in future ChangeCamps in Australia: http://engage2.com.au/changecampau/
This page and ChangeCamp AU is hosted by engage2 Pty Ltd. We support do-ocracy and governments who want to understand, engage and work with community. We do not support Advocacy or Campaigning of governments. Please feel free to post your event or initiative here as long as it is about what You are DOING to help address social challenges communities in Australia. All other posts will be moderated.
