Happy July! A great time to pause + celebrate the freedoms we have as Americans… (even if sometimes it feels like we’re still just dating it’s “potential”…) 🫠🙏❤️

just in case you didn’t hear me:

Happy Rainbow Month!!!
As a little kid, I always proclaimed my favorite color to be “rainbow.” 😂😂 As an adult, I love that “my favorite color” is also a symbol of love, equality, inclusivity, and being yourself - all things essential to HAPPINESS. And what could be happier than a rainbow garden gnome?!?! 🫶🥰🙌

Overflowing with gratitude for last weekend’s success! 🩵 About 9 weeks ago, I fainted + fell 😳 …and that’s how I found out I had Covid. 🫤 From face to shin, my whole right side was banged up, especially my shoulder. Thanks to my fab PT’s, Jackie + Maddie, my arm + neck got moving again. More relief came when Annie helped me connect with her nephew Luke, who did ALL the heavy lifting to set up my booth. And to tip my thanks over the top, my fab friend Sarah joined me in W-S just to swipe cards, wrap purchases + make sure I stretched, hydrated + took breaks. I LITERALLY couldn’t have done without ALL of them! 🫶

It’s taken a whole week to recover, unload the car, and clean all my pollen-covered inventory 😂 So no more big shows for me this season 💩 I’ll be limiting my studio time so my neck + shoulder (and my physical therapists!) get some undivided attention + work out the final kinks… 💪💥🎉 Already feeling HEAPS better and making great progress - all thanks to the help of others… 🩵🎉

So - website updates coming tonight! I’ll still be doing shipments, local pick-ups, and *maybe* some smaller markets over the summer 🤞 I love (+ miss!) seeing my customers in person! 🙏🩵

💪

Happy Tartan Day, y’all!
Tartan became “a thing” for our family when my sister introduced us to her future husband - a tall, braw, unintelligible-to-us Glaswegian 😆 For 20+ years, we’ve grown to love all things Scotland - especially my bro-in-law + their half-Scottish kiddos. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤍💙 So while they enjoy the , I’ll celebrate with a new tartan candle. Slainte Mhath!

Happy Easter! Finally made myself a basket (or two…)

First attempts at making my own hobnail candleholders 🩵💚💙 What do you think?? I think I want to make a zillion of these 😂 so I really need your feedback!

The first art glass style I ever fell in love with was vintage hobnail. I loved the translucency of the glass and the texture of the bumps - and let’s face it, I just loved polka dots… 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve had this idea in my head forever but lacked the patience to test it out. Well, thanks to a month of Covid fatigue, I needed things I could work on while sitting down - and these finally came to life… 🥰

Fun things bubbling up… let the holiday weekend begin!

26/03/2024

Stunned + heartbroken about today’s news out of Baltimore. Maryland is riddled with waterways leading to the Chesapeake Bay, making (often long) bridges a part of our daily lives and beloved landmarks of skylines up + down the Bay. The collapse of Baltimore’s Key Bridge this morning is absolutely terrifying - how it could happen, the extent of the damage, the poor souls lost to the water… It boggles the mind and breaks the heart 💔

My heart is with my home state + the families impacted by today’s tragedy. Sharing my beloved Bay Bridge design in solidarity with anyone saddened by the loss of a hometown landmark.

Sometimes you just need a pop of color…

When there’s spare room in the kiln, I love squeezing in little wearables ~ bits + bobs that kick my usual plain tees up a notch. Finishing up some new ones just in time for spring shows 💚

17/03/2024

A perfect day to add some green to the garden 🪴💚

Happy St Patrick’s Day, y’all!

🍀 …

10/03/2024

Three cheers for the bright, happy greenery sprouting up everywhere 💚 including in my home studio. I’m getting a lot of positive energy + inspiration from vibrant greens, especially while home-bound with Covid (15 days + counting 🥴 still testing positive 😤 but feeling MUCH better 🙌)

With my energy-levels returning, I’m getting productive again. Any plants or colors you think I should try?!

🌱 🥰

Happy New Year, y’all! So far, 2024 gets one thumb up from me — but just for 7-10 days until the stitches come out 😜 Thankfully, my mishap occurred AFTER unloading the last sheet of a new batch of gorgeous glass colors, and AFTER an overdue cleaning of my studio. So when the lidocaine wears off + the stitches come out, I can hit the ground running!!! (Well… maybe “carefully walking” would be safer for me… 😇🤦🏻‍♀️)

🤦🏻‍♀️

Whew… Sayonara, 2023! For a year plagued with creative drought + too many life lessons, your hearts, sweet comments, thoughtful feedback, and new glass purchases have kept that little glimmer in my eye shining 🩵🙌 Thanks for sharing in my art journey - in person, in your home, or even just thru your screen 😂 It may not seem like much to you but it feeds me the validation, inspiration, encouragement, + motivation needed to tap into my creativity (especially when my muse went MIA… 🫤)

So here’s to one last reflection on 2023 - a long, slow, uncomfy year that —thank goodness!— finished creatively + adorably strong 💪🎉 My top faves + the ones you loved the most ~ and on to great things for us all in 2024!!! 🙌

Have a safe + happy Eve, y’all! A bright, shiny new year awaits you tomorrow!

(again… and again…) 🩵

No matter how old you get, always be prepared for Santa — just in case 😇 The creatures that dominated my holiday season made this year’s cookie plate design a gnome-brainer 😜🤦🏻‍♀️ Peppermint and cookie balloons pushed me right over the edge… Cuteness overload complete!

Merry Christmas Eve to all who celebrate!

And for anyone who is having a tough time and not feeling the sparkles + cookies this year ~ extra hugs to you + yours ❤️ Holidays can be complicated. Feel your feels and celebrate in whatever way feels right to you. ❤️

After a couple months of working on YOUR gifts, I’ve enjoyed working on some of my own the last week or so 🩵🥰 First up is a gift for a friend, commemorating the epic cross-country adventure she took with her camper this summer. When she helped me fine tune my little camper-van ornament earlier in the season, I drove home thinking, “I bet her Aliner wouldn’t be too hard to cut out…” Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out 🙌

16/12/2023

Who’s coming to today?! I’m all set on the 2nd floor, surrounded by 50+ amazing local artists set up in the gallery space and in their studios. Open to the public - 11am-4pm!

For most of us, it’s the last market of the holiday season, so come say hello + let us share what we’re been working on ❤️

Photos from Melsie Glass's post 13/12/2023

Last call for shipping! Friday 12/15 will be my last trip to the post office, so grab your glass goodies soon 🙌
It’s been a very gnome-y season this year 🩵🤭 but plenty of plates, candleholders, serving trays, and earrings are also nestled under somebody’s tree… DM if you’re looking for something in particular!
Now… what presents do *I* have left to buy??? 🤔😖

*LOCALS* I got you. You can still shop Saturday Holiday Market, or arrange pick-ups next week 🙌

I love meeting up with locals for their last minute gift purchases ~ a grand excuse to bring home a baklava 🥐!

For local orders over $60, let’s both save the shipping hassle and just meet up! A few suggested locations are on the map ~ just send me a DM for in-person pricing + to see if we can find a time to meet up. And for stuff like ornaments, YES - I can bring you the lot to choose from! It’s great to SHOP LOCAL ❤️🙌

When it’s 70 degrees in December, the gnomes dress in their springiest colors! 🥰 On my way to set up for ~ see you there, 12pm-5pm! Swipe to find me on the bottom map ~ 504 Boylan Ave 🙌

Last minute candle photo shoot! I rarely make strictly Christmas candles - I much prefer picking red OR green so the piece can have a life year round. But something about these different glass pieces just begged me to piece them together ~ and I’m so glad I did!

Now if I can just remember to add this to my already packed car for tomorrow morning… 🤔😆

Sweet dreams, lovelies ~ and hope to see a bunch of you tomorrow afternoon!
