We're sure that you will have seen the AWESOME entertainment line up we have for the Christmas Festival this Thursday! Here are some of the local groups that you can catch doing their thing.

Jump Jam National Finalists - This group from Springlands School recently competed in the NZ Jump Jam Finals and did an amazing job!

Local Trio Yadahdancecrew are making waves with their incredible hip hop moves. Definitely not something you want to miss!

Marlborough Academy of Dance students have just finished their end of year show Mission; Possible and a few of their groups will be gracing the stage once again!

Local Band Second Sunrise will be the main entertainment for the evening.

Maxine Kemp and Dennis Roque will be up on the Marlborough 4 Fun stage once again, spreading all that Christmas Joy.

A small group of DANCE on grove students are currently fundraising for their trip to New York and Orlando 2020! They will be face painting throughout the evening.

Make sure you come and support all of these awesome local groups!

We are excited to announce we will be performing at this year's Blenheim Christmas Festival in the forum on Thursday December 12th from 6.30 till 8pm. We may even play a couple of Christmas songs for you. ;) Hope to see you there. 🎄🥁🎸🎙🎵🎶

Second Sunrise

Introducing our brand new lead singer Lieke Tegels.
Coming all the way from The Netherlands, Lieke was born in a small village in the south where she used to sing in the shower. Her mum always said that she knew Lieke wasn’t happy if she wasn’t singing. Getting more used to the stage nowadays, Lieke won the Blenheim ‘Stars in your Eyes’ 2019 charity event performing as Lady Gaga. She sang in a covers band in University and performed in musicals, at weddings and occasional birthday parties next to working in the Wine Industry for the past 7 years.

We are sad to say our wonderful singer Danica has moved back up to New Plymouth. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us for that too short a length of time. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and wish you and your family all the very best for the future.

In other news - we do have a new lead singer joining our band. Watch this space and we will introduce her soon.

The heat wave is nearly over! Phew!
Saturday will be sunny and charming in the low 20's so its safe to come out and enjoy the free Renwick Summer Concert starting 4pm. Sweat free!

Wow! Marlborough 4 Fun you've done it again. We had an absolute blast at Ocean Vine Hop yesterday.

We are excited to introduce our newest band member, our lead singer Danica Manson.
Originally from Taranaki, Danica took to the stage when she was four years old so you could say the stage is her second home. A huge passion for music and singing lead her to attend the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art in Christchurch for 3 years where she studied musical theatre. Since then Danica has performed in various musical theatre productions around New Zealand as well as taking on roles in musical vocal direction and singing tuition here in Blenheim. As a new stay at home mum, Danica is excited to be a part of Second Sunrise and to contribute her array of vocal talents to the band in 2018.

We are sad to announce that our founding member and talented front person Michelle Joan has left us to move back down South. It's been an absolute joy and a pleasure performing with you Michelle and we wish you all the very best.

We have a new, equally talented lead singer who we will introduce to you all shortly.

Introducing the band:
Originally hailing from the Deep South (Winton) Michelle Beck is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for Second Sunrise. Michelle has played at The Branding Music Festival, been a finalist at Gold Guitar Awards, and made it to boot camp on NZ Xfactor. She also released her debut EP in 2015 of all originals. She spends her days as a preschool teacher in Blenheim. 2018 is going to be a big year for Michelle solo and with the band!

Bruce gets to call himself the bassist of Second Sunrise (lucky guy!). He also plays in another band along with Vinny called The Big Kahuna as the lead guitarist. You may also see this silver fox at Devon Nursery or out on his motorbike.

Vinny is the drummer for Second Sunrise. He also plays drums for another Blenheim band The Big Kahuna. He has been on stage for two Blenheim Musical Theatre shows, Chess and The Full Monty, did backing vocals for Mamma Mia and also helped backstage for several other productions.
His musical tastes are very diverse but his favorites fall in the classic rock genre from the 60s- 90.
