M.E - Balanced Body & Spirit
I am here to share my journey towards a balanced lifestyle. Everyday, I work to become the best version of myself. Balancing MIND. BODY. SOUL
Want to know my secret 🤫…
DISCIPLINE 🙈
I’m sorry to tell you this, but no amount of motivation will get me out of bed after waking up at 1am to a crying baby…
That’s my only ME TIME of the day, and even if it’s hard to get up, I know that at the end of the day I fell 1000% better when I workout.
got to make choices and stick to it 😉
You can do it 💪🏻
Whether you workout or rested today, I hope you did whatever felt best FOR YOU.
That goes for your mental state as well.
Was lucky enough to do both today. Workout and took a nap in the afternoon, cause I needed it ❤️
Thursday pep talk... about motivation 🔥
So many of us rely on this “motivation” to get back on track or even get started...we expect that we are going to feel different on “Monday” than we how felt on Friday and will be ready to get back on track 😅... that’s not how our mind works. Motivation is not like a switch that needs to be turned on.
Motivation is the spark that ignites your actions... it will help push you forward and get started, but after that you have to keep fueling that fire to keep it going. You can certainly use those boost of motivation but DON’T RELY on motivation to take action and to stay consistent. That’s when discipline and habits come into play.
You have to make a conscious decision to keep going whether you feel like it or not (cause we all have those days ✌🏻)
Use motivation to fire you up and make an existing goal for yourself, so that when motivation fades, you have something to focus on and KEEP SHOWING UP🔥
My house is a mess.
I haven’t washed my hair in over 10 days.
I have mountains of laundry to fold.
I’m shredding more hair than my fur baby 🙈..the list goes on.
BUT I decided to focus on the good things:👇🏻
I ate lunch
The grocery is done
My baby is happy, clean, loved and fed (and currently sleeping ❤️)
I have an amazing partner in crime that I love
AND my workout is done 💪🏻
I for sure can’t do everything or control everything, but I’m working hard to change my mindset to see the positive around me ✨✨✨
✨Sunday Morning ✨
Woke up at 7am with mini, worked out at 9am while she was napping and now we’re having fun while I drink my 2nd cup of coffee and decide what I’m going to have for breakfast ✌🏻
How is your Sunday going?⚡️
That workout got to me.
Day 35 pushed me to my breaking point.
It’s been a while since a workout got me emotional and this one made me feel all the emotions postpartum brought me🥵
Got to feel those emotions when the come up to the surface and release them ✨
GOALS - Focus on actions not the results.
Goals are supposed to be a source of motivation, not an obstacle.
That’s why I started to workout at home 4 years ago! Because it removes obstacles and excuses. I know that life gets crazy and, right now, all the gyms are closed...so 🤷🏼♀️ya know... oh ya, and ALL my workouts are already planned for me by super trainers 😅😂
Right now, if you want to workout, at home it is the only option. I chose this type of workout for the flexibility it gives me and with a 17 weeks old... I can say that it is still the best option for me 😜😅 Life happens and we all need to adjust 😉
Give yourself options
POSITIVE THOUGHTS.
POSITIVE LIFE.
Positive thoughts lead to a positive life. We all get caught up in “not feeling good enough” at times... especially right now that we are all stuck inside most of the time 🙈.
Life is a journey, filled with ups and downs. It can be hard, there’s no reason to make it even harder by beating ourselves up.
It’s time to shift our minds, to look for the positive or at least the lesson in a hard situation. No matter what remember YOU ARE AMAZING, YOU ARE ENOUGH.
There’s no such things as being perfect.
Nobody is perfect.
BUT we can always get better and try again.
So change your mindset.
Get up and try to be better than yesterday ✌🏻
It’s all about progress, NOT perfection!
And there’s nothing perfect about getting back in shape after pregnancy 😅🙈
Those pictures are 3 weeks apart.
3 weeks of working out consistently 5 days/week. It might look like little progress to you, but here’s a few key things about those last 3 weeks I want to share:
*I started this program at 12 weeks postpartum. I’ve been mostly modifying the modifier the first week or so, taking it slow and increasing the intensity slowly.
*I followed the foundational fix 80/20, having chocolate most nights, pizza and takeout quite a few times... cause we failed to plan 🙈🤷🏼♀️, but that’s ok!
*I have a newborn... so sleep is weird. Sleep is SUPER important and I’m getting enough but not as much as I used to!
*I dropped the ball BIG TIME on the controlled stretches every night. 😬 I did them sometimes but kept forgetting!
*I messed up the rest days...
I choose to focus on what is important... and that is that I feel amazing and stronger than when I started 3 weeks ago. Plus, I wasn’t perfect! Perfection isn’t a lifestyle but this is. I ate good food and didn’t stress out about my body.
More importantly I did something for myself every day that I was working out. Something to take my mind off all of my responsibilities. Something NEW & FUN!! Something that I trusted would get me results with time, so I never had to question it.
Ask me anything you want about this program in the comments! 👇🏼
3 Weeks into the program and feeling amazing! My new program is all about taking control. To focus on what you can control and let go of the rest. Cause:
You can change.
You can evolve.
You can improve.
You can level up. 💪🏻
It just takes the right leverage. It takes the right reason. And it’s has to be all 100% yours.
I order for me to be in peak health (mind, body and spirit) I need goals and need to focus. I realized that my beautiful baby girl is going to model what I do, not what I say. And while I cannot control everything, I can control what I do and happens within.
And when this cup is overflowing, I always have enough to make an impact.
I’m back.🙆🏼♀️
After 3 days of being sick and sleeping every minutes I could, I am finally back!
It’s always a pain to get sick... but being sick with a 3 months old is an whole game 🙈😳
But we survived 😷⚡️
Today was a good day, slept in late, started the 3rd week of my fitness program and took a walk with baby girl.
You might be 10 days away from loving each moment of your workout. 😉⚡️
Starting back up is hard. It’s a mental game more than anything. But I’m here, 3 months postpartum, on day 10 of consecutively moving my body (with stretch and recovery added in there) and the dread of starting something back up has become the glow that endorphins bring.
You may only be 10 days away.⚡️
3 months postpartum, bye bye fourth trimester 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
But doesn’t mean it was an easy day... I felt off and didn’t want to get dressed at all, but did it anyways. So I wanted to list a couple things we need to normalize around working out:
You will have bad daysYou won’t always get it the first tryIt’s okay to modifyNot every workout is going to be your bestYou’re not always going to feel as strong as the day beforeProgress isn’t linearProgress are not just for esthetic
This journey is not easy. My body has been through a lot of different phases over the past year... and I’m not done 🙈
But one thing is for sure it is not about been perfect, it’s about showing up.
Showing up for me, cause I deserve it 🖤
Day 2 ✨💪🏻
