I want a never ending supply of these itty bitty potatoes.
Vegan sweets from 🌱 I have been wanting to come here for so long and it finally happened, it was worth the wait 🧁.
A very ideal lunch 🙂. curry chickpea turnover and a side of some probiotic rich fermented cabbage from . For a while I was fermenting my own veggies and then kinda lost the motivation but looking back I think it was due to producing TOO much at a time to where I got sick of it quickly (I’m talking like 32oz at a time lol). Sooo this time around I’m going to do small batches and get more creative. My fave resources for veggie and booch fermentation are and . Both websites have great info and recipes to produce probiotic rich foods at home to help create a healthy gut microbiome 😉
When they say they got vegan soft serve options 😅🍦.
Anyone else keep 3 bags of frozen rainbow cauliflower in the freezer at all times 😁? Tip for making roasted cauli with any sauce (buffalo, bbq, teriyaki, etc): always roast cauli naked ;) first on non stick (I use ) for about 15-20 mins (depending how soft you want it) on 425F (moving them around halfway through) then take out and toss in sauce, put back in and broil for 5-7 mins (moving them around). This ensures that they get that roasty feel but still stay saucy 😏.
Delicious blueberry almond muffin from that is vegan, gluten and soy free 🙏🏻♥️. I love this stand so much 😭. The perfect pick me up after class today 👌🏻.
😂, I had to share this.
Raspberry Peanut Butter Smoothie:
* 1 cup - frozen org. raspberries
* 1/2 cup - frozen org. spinach
* 1 ripe medium banana 🍌
* 1 cup + - unsweetened alm. milk
* 2 tbsp - flaxmeal
* 2 tbsp - pure h**p protein
* 2 tbsp - natural pb 🥜
We made a great lunch the other day, ☀️🥑
Smoothie of the day! Filling chocolate raspberry goodness. Also filled with all macros plus high in vitamins and minerals from greens powder. A friend recently told me about her latest addiction of adding tahini into her smoothies instead of pb or ab and I totally rock with it. I felt myself wanting something chocolatey and decadent (hi pms) and this cluster of ingredients came to mind! So gooood.
Spent the weekend in Philly and found out that vegan blueberry ice cream 🍦 is all that I was missing in my life 😛.
Still daydreaming about the truffle avo 🥑 toast & dragonfruit lemonade 🍋 from .... would be perfect while I’m sitting poolside rn ☀️. @ Craft New York
♥️🌿☂️
I made this a while ago during my holistic health and nutrition certification for a series I was doing on my blog (lostisalive.com). I made it pretty kid friendly ♥️(jk that wasn’t my intention I just love colors, I literally study using refillable colored pencils and colored index cards 😂). All these foods are not only extremely nutritious but contain vitamins and minerals that have been known to regulate specific hormones that ultimately contribute to anxiety (as well as many other things). Of course you don’t have to have high anxiety to enjoy these foods, if you are newly plant-based or wanting to add in more plant-based nutritious ingredients, it can be helpful for your own grocery list! Full blog post will be linked in bio 😚.
Not the best pic 😅 but I just share. The one thing, for some reason, I never normally make at home are sandwiches... So when the opportunity arises to get a bomb-ass sandwich, I take it. If you haven’t noticed I love ...a lot... and this is their French horn mushroom focaccia with sun-dried tomatoes, arugula, artichoke aioli, mint & basil pesto. All of my favorite things...on one sandwich, 👌🏻.
Turmeric Protein Smoothie; great for post workout or an easy breakfast/ lunch. My favorite part about this smoothie is not only the anti-inflammatory turmeric but the cinnamon which helps regulate blood sugar as well as increases digestive fire 🔥. For full post, link in bio. • 2 1/2 cups Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
• 1/2 cup Rolled oats
• 2 tablespoons Raw creamy almond butter
• 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
• 2 teaspoons Turmeric powder
• 2 Dates, pitted (if dry soak in warm water for 10 minutes)
• 2 Frozen bananas
• 1 Scoop Vegan Protein powder.
Eating On Vacation Rules: 1. There are none. My advice is to just listen to your body and don’t think too much. (Remember, numbers on a scale don’t determine your worth and are a pretty inaccurate way to determine what’s going on inside you). Know what makes you feel s**tty, try not to eat that much of those things so that you get to really be present wherever you are. Try to incorporate greens as much as possible to balance a lot of the heavier foods you’ll probably be consuming. This will help keep your digestion ‘regular’ and keep you feeling better overall. However, if this doesn’t sound appealing to you, screw it. Eat your heart out baby, enjoy everything about wherever you go and when you come back know deep inside that you’ll go back to nourishing your body with more nutrient dense foods. 📷 .
I like my breakfast delicious and extra nutritious 😋. Smoothie: blueberry, banana, almond milk, ginger, cinnamon, super greens powder and h**p protein ☀️. Berries are amazing anti-oxidants, high in fiber, vit C & K 🧡. I strongly recommend making berries, especially blue, black and raspberries a part of your main diet! Also, add in ginger and cinnamon to smoothies for better digestion, to bring ‘heat’ or a little ‘yang’ to otherwise very ‘yin’ cold meal. I topped this bowl with coconut granola, strawberries and sunflower seeds (sunflower for hormonal regulation during 2nd phase of cycle, ask me about seed cycling for period regularity if you’re interested!) 👍🏻.
Kabobs. Summer. means. kabobs. Get at me 🙃. No but on the real some self expression real quick..., I haven’t been genuinely this happy in a really long time and I’m very excited about summer (even though I’ll still have class 😪) and it’s actually insane how content I am with life and my goals and my self rn. I feel very aligned with what I’m doing and learning and sharing. It feels right. Making myself my biggest project mentally and physically has been a constant over the last 5 years but this year in particular was a turning point in all aspects and and I just wanna thank anyone that has been there in any way for me over the past 4 months cause it’s being a fu***ng trip man and I have od love for the real ones and good hearts and the energies that are pure. ...I also want to say to always speak your truth and love from your heart even if it makes you vulnerable (vulnerability is transformative) even if it results in soul crushing heartbreak 💪🏻because it’s our love that matters and it is 👉🏻NEVER wrong to be a good and kind person, don’t let your pain ruin that. Oh! & be your weird fu***ng self and don’t care about if it’s ‘attractive’ or ‘normal’ or ‘too much’. That last one took me a while to get over. I personally am magnetized to the ones that live their truth and speak their heart! (Ugh I cannot wait for ‘s book!)The world is pretty s**tty right now on a large scale and we just really gotta help hold each other up and hold space for our hearts and for healing, you feel me? Take care of yourself! Love yourself like it’s all that matters in this life! Use food as fuel and a beautiful life source (hmu if you need help $$). Move your body and dance your ass off, sing even if you suck!! Of course all of this has to pour out on a Scorpio full moon 😆 🌕 🖤 Love you, TED talk over...back to the kabobs. So I’m thinking big cauliflower kabobs fired up with buffalo sauce with celery and cashew artichoke dip on the side? Yea.
Vegan pesto 🌱One of my favorite meals to make. [basil/parsley/nutritional yeast/O.O/water/rock salt/ lemon juice/walnuts/pepper topped over red lentil pasta, sprinkled with sundried tomatoes!]
Avocado toast on sourdough with fermented beets, tomato and everything seasoning. I need to start fermenting veggies again! They are such a natural source of probiotics and it feels like a science experiment! I can’t wait for the one month of the summer I have actual free time (the rest of it I’m taking summer classes) to get experimental again. Writing, recipe testing, fermentation projects...these things require time that I cannot prioritize right now 🐛 but will be very soon 🦋and I can’t wait 😊 .
One of the best things to meal prep for the week, in my opinion, is . Hardest part is nailing the sushi rice. Finding the perfect combo of rice vinegar, sugar and salt is key 🔑. After many failed sushi rice attempts here is what works for me: Sushi 🍣 rice 🍚
2 cups rice rinsed briefly
2 cups + 2 tbsp water
Medium sauce pot short handles
Boil, then cover for 15 minutes on lowest
Turn heat off let sit for 10.
2 tbsp + 1 tsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp + 1 tsp sugar
1/2 tbsp of salt
I cannot wait for fresh sun ripened heirloom tomatoes from the farmer’s market 🤤. [Repost] ➡️ (heirlooms 🍅with basil 🌿 , balsamic, onion and olive oil) Up until this year you couldn't pay me to eat tomatoes. I grew up with my mom hating them, then when I was younger my dad was growing grape tomatoes and gave me one and I was revolted. From that point on I was so anti-tomato that even if they touched my sandwich I would freak. Isn't it funny how much childhood follows us through adulthood 😂However, that all changed once I started working at a restaurant and being around tomatoes everyday all day. They slowly crept into my diet..but I could only eat them with something and not by themselves.. in the last week however...ever since tomatoes have been ripening all over the place, I'm totally into them! My friend bought a couple heirlooms from the farmer's market yesterday and when we got home she asked for onion, balsamic, Basil and olive oil..all of which I had on hand. She then chopped the tomatoes and combined everything and started eating it like it was the best thing she ever tried. So I tried, and I fell in love with these flavors. My journey with tomatoes may sound corny but it's taught me a lot about breaking the paradigms from childhood. Opening up to foods with fresh eyes instead of demise...
Throwback to these raw kelp noodles (I’m going to be reposting a lot of my old stuff bc 1. No time to cook like this anymore rn 😅 2. Who doesn’t love recycling?!
🌱RAW VEGAN🌱 kelp noodles with basil walnut pesto. Guys, I totally over sauced these to the point where my bf had to add regular spaghetti to his just to even out the sauce content and that still didn’t work haha. I had a small side dish that was about 30% kelp 70% sauce 😌 whoops 😬. ________________________________________________________You know what’s cool? Kelp noodles. They are sugar free, fat free, carb free, gluten free...I can keep going.. Eating seaweeds is a must in Traditional Chinese Medicine and for good reason. They contain tons of trace minerals (like iodine, zinc..iron) and vitamins that your body just soaks up. A trace mineral and essential nutrient, iodine plays a huge role in metabolism and thyroid function. Deficient iodine can lead to thyroid problems, such as hypothyroidism. So munch on your seaweeds! Add kombu and wakame to soups and broths and experiment with kelp powder in soups and smoothies and kelp noodles with different sauces (they are a lot of fun 😊).
I’m already daydreaming about trying the entrées from because the appetizers and dessert we picked on were so delicious and...refreshing. Everything here is vegan and Ayurveda based, with the menu telling you what foods cater to what doshas. 1st pic is sunflower beet hummus with spelt-sesame crackers, 2nd is ‘mozzarella’ plate (which was made from just sunflower seeds and probiotic!!) and 3rd is pistachio fudge 🤤. @ Divya's Kitchen
It’s getting warm out ☀️ which makes me want smoothies and cold prepped breakfasts like this chia pudding! It will keep you full for a while and provides an amazing source of nutrients. Full of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber (helps clean GI out), protein (they contain ALL nine essential amino acids making it a great plant based source of protein), calcium, phosphorus & zinc. Chia pudding can be so versatile too, layer with your favorite healthy toppings, add some cocoa powder to the almond milk before setting, go with a berry theme or top with cinnamon apples... the choice is yours 🙏🏻. Swipe left to save recipe 🧚🏻♀️.
One of my absolute favorite soups to make ever. White bean, potato and kale. This soup is hearty and nutritious and flavored with aromatic rosemary, garlic and onion. Toasted garlic sourdough is a must. It’s so cheap and simple to make. Every time I make this I wish I made enough for every day of the week 🤤. Recipe by .
I love raspberry smoothies.
I feel like I needed to read this so that’s why I’m sharing. “mental movie-making.” BOOM. I 🙋🏻♀️ am queen of making dramatic suspense thrillers based on my anxiety. QUEEN. I do have to say I’ve seen some progress in myself after doing Inner warrior program. Learning how manipulative our own brains can be, is so relieving. Learning to navigate it, is life changing. Let our presence be our identity. Let our presence be our identity. Let our presence be our identity. That’s all 🙏🏻.
I don’t normally do food reviews (I spent the better part of my late teens/early 20s reviewing multitudes of products for actual money and participating in focus groups, I’m pretty ‘over it’) but when I saw that came out with a Greek style dairy/soy free yogurt I was shook. Standing in the middle of Target I felt like a wish was granted (i’m being overly dramatic here). I had been waiting for a light/ Greek style dairy free yogurt for SO long. The flavor was tart cherry 🍒 which made me 😊. I honestly loved it. However, if you don’t like TART cherry you will not enjoy this. My qualms with most vegan yogurts is that they are too sweet. This was perfect. A real perfect mid-day pick me up. It was a unique flavor and I enjoyed it plain without adding any additions. Make sure when you open it you mix it really well first! It’s not for everyone but if you’re like me and have been looking for a lighter veg yogurt, try it out! Also I’m OBSESSED with my josephjoseph reusable/travel silverware and had to put on display 🥄.
We all have dark days where we swear it will never be possible for the light to come in. Where we sink so deep that all of this feels pointless and painful. I go through these waves especially during winter and specifically..all day yesterday. Winter is always a time of going in (to my mind) and hoping I make it out alive. It’s brutal but it’s necessary to understand the cold parts of ourselves. Something that helps is visualizing. Visualizing yourself smiling. Visualizing yourself doing he things your putting off. Visualizing yourself being kind to others. Then most importantly, even though it feels impossible when you feel like you are sinking, visualizing yourself being kind to yourself. It’s easier said then done to just show up as the ‘you’ you ‘want to be’. But trying is all we have to do. If your ‘trying’ is just waking up the next day and looking in the mirror and smiling, good for you. It’s baby steps and sometimes step backs. We’ll never always be going forward, it’s an unreal expectation. As my physiology professor said today, ‘maybe the reason we are unhappy is because we set up unreal happy expectations for ourselves’. Maybe it’s that simple. We just think too much.
I started classes again. It’s SO much science. This nutrition (RDN) program is no joke. It’s dense. It’s tough. So here’s some potatoes. Potatoes are simple. We need to balance the intensities of life with the simplicities. I love potatoes. Okay, bye 😁 🥔.
I truly resonate with this right now. Please speak nice to yourself. It’s so sad how much negative s**t we talk inside our minds about ourselves. I’m in this online Inner Warrior course right now and yesterday’s hw was to journal about all the negative phrases you say to yourself..And my list was never ending. I honestly got overwhelmed by how sad it is. How we suffer so much because we’ve brainwashed our own brains into believing these negative things about ourselves over the course of decades. We store little tid bits of pain and memories and don’t realize that it’s not our truth. It’s just shadows.
Just eat ya greens. Eat em. Do it for your blood. Do it for your liver. Do it whatever way works for you. Do it in a smoothie, do it in a salad, do it sautéed or steamed. Don’t think too much about it. Just eat ya greens. Thank you for listening to my psa.
I was recently talking to a friend, about the ‘spiritual ego’. To sum it up, the part of us that forces spirituality to maybe elevate us above the population. Included in this is situations like forcing meditation or yoga on a daily basis b/c not doing so would lead to guilt on the self. For example, if before I go to bed I tell myself I will do yoga tomorrow and meditate for at least 5 minutes but then wake up the next day and cant bring myself to the mat. What I start telling myself from that point on are very negative things about myself and guilt sets in that I’m 1. Not taking care of myself. 2. A fake. 3. Not ‘strong willed’. It felt very relieving to talk to someone about this cause I’ve never related to anyone about it before. We have both, with the new year energy, realized this is hindering growth so much and accomplishing the complete opposite as to what healing habits are capable of. Forcing these things as well as many other aspects of life is just plain unnecessary and creates a negative karmic cycle that feels good for no one. However, with the release of that control and settling of this ego..it comes so much more naturally. It lets our heart decide what we want to do and creates a beautiful harmony. Flowing, not forcing.
