‘TRY for CRY’- 6 week Fundraising Challenge for

On November 1st I will kick off a unique fundraising initiative with my colleagues , friends & family for CRY Ireland, ‘ TRY for CRY’ is scheduled to run from November 1st to December 14th. Instead of embarking on the traditional Camino, & .gardiner.7 & I are challenging participants to complete a leg of the Camino from the comfort of their own homes. The aim of the challenge is to get people out walking / jogging / running the distance of the Camino (a leg of it), and more importantly donating to CRY Ireland ( Cardiac Risk In The Young )

The beauty of “Try for CRY” lies in its inclusivity, with an open invitation for everyone to take part. The primary goal is to inspire individuals to step out, whether in their living rooms, gardens, or local parks, and complete a distance equivalent to a Camino leg, all while contributing to

I will be taking on the 200km challenge, but participants can tailor their challenge by choosing from a variety of distances, including 60k, 100k, 180k, or 200k, accommodating a wide range of fitness levels.

‘ TRY for CRY’ is all about coming together and challenging ourselves for a cause that’s close to our hearts. Even if we can’t walk the Camino physically, we can walk it in spirit from our own homes, parks, gyms and that’s a powerful way to make a difference. So I encourage everyone to join in and make sure to tag myself and CRY Ireland on social media to follow along on your journeys.”

Aidan O Mahony is an avid athlete and during his 14 year commitment to Kerry Senior football he won 5 All Ireland, 10 Munster and 3 National League medals. He attained 2 All Stars and he was Man Of Match in the 2006 All Ireland Final. Aidan is an Ambassador for Setanta Sports College where he is currently studying a Batchelor of Science in Strength and Conditioning. Aidan is also persuing his UKSCA qualifications in Strength and Conditioning and Olympic Weightlifting. He provides performance programmes for athletes who share the same interest in maximum performance and team sports. Aidan has made more than 70 championship appearances and featured in 85 league games for the Kerry Senior team and was exposed to playing under various management teams. Aidan has extensive experience in Management, coaching and Strength and Conditioning from his involvement with Development Squads (2017), Kerry Minors (2020 – 2022), MTU Kerry Sigerson Team (2019 – 2022) East Kerry U21, Milstreet GAA ( 2017-2018) and more recently Senior Manager to Dr Crokes Hurlers (2022 – Current).

Aidan has built a fitness brand titled AOMFITNESS where he shares his passion, respect and dedication to fitness and sport. Aidan’s objective is to continue practicing high performance coaching to a variety of athletes in a team environment.
