When distilling the English Chamomile, oil is tapped off the separator where it is collected and taken for further separation and filtering. During distillation pollen petals and small bits of plant material can come over is the steam and be collected with the oil, which is what you can see in the filter papers here. Every distillation is separated further and then put through a filter removing any plant material and any water residue from the oil prior to bottling.

English/Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) Grown and distilled by ourselves here in Norfolk. Typically a pale blue sweet herbaceous scented oil. Can be pale yellow when produced in the hotter climates. The weather here in England can play havoc at harvest time, ideally the chamomile should be harvested July/August when its dry with the sun shining, which all help in preseving the delicate blue colour. Considered as one of the oldest medicinal herbs, it has been used widely in many era's to this day. It is well known for is calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Pairs beautifully with lavender in many applications.
