Mitigating and adapting to climate change is a top priority of our sustainability goals. To do our part, we have committed to making all of our own operations climate-neutral by 2030.
As a key part of this, we're working to reduce our absolute emissions by 42%. In six years, we also want to be able to say that 100% of our purchased electricity comes from renewable sources. 🌱

By 2050, the world's population is projected to surge by two billion, highlighting the critical need for high-quality, nutritious food. In the face of climate change, a sustainable food system isn't just essential for consumers, but also for farmers.
Acknowledging the indispensable role of smallholder farmers in food security, aims to support 100 million smallholder farmers in low and middle-income countries by improving their access to essential agricultural products and services by 2030. This is all part of our 2030 sustainability goals. As of 2023, we've already supported 53 million smallholder farmers!

Corn, wheat, and rice require nitrogen fertilizer to grow. That’s because the microbes that live on their roots can’t convert the nitrogen in the air into an absorbable form for plants. Plants like soy have microbes that can do just that. What if we could give other roots this ability? It would save farmers time and money, and it would save our planet valuable resources.
That’s the future of agriculture, and Bayer is already partnering with Joyn Bio to make it a reality.
We’re designing microbes to help plants like corn, wheat and rice fix environmental nitrogen, rather than rely on synthetic inputs. This is an important innovation in our vision of regenerative agriculture.
In the last 4 years, we helped 13+ million women and their babies to have healthier pregnancies and healthier babies with our partners Vitamin Angels, through our Nutrient Gap Initiative.

At , our mission drives all our efforts. As part of our sustainability goals, we want to provide self-care support to 100 million people in underserved communities by 2030. In 2023, we've already hit a significant milestone, reaching up to 75 million people in underserved communities, bringing us one step closer to a world where healthcare is accessible to all.
They're known as the , or Factory Eleven. We call them our colleagues. Congrats to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on their first-ever German championship! And the season is not over yet. More to come, especially in the Europa League and the DFB Cup!

Far too many women in low and middle-income countries who want to avoid pregnancy don't use safe and effective family planning methods. But easy access to contraceptives means more than just being able to take control of family planning - it also empowers girls and women to have self-determined lives.
This is why one of Bayer's sustainability goals is to improve access to contraceptives for 100 million women by 2030. So far, we´ve reached 46 million 💪
A healthy future begins with moms experiencing healthy pregnancies and girls starting off strong. But right now, over 1 billion adolescent girls and women are suffering from undernutrition, making it difficult for them to do well in school and at work.
At Bayer, we're committed to fighting malnutrition. As part of our sustainability goal to improve access to everyday health for 100 million people in underserved communities by 2030, we've introduced The Nutrient Gap Initiative. Understanding the greater demand for essential nutrients during pregnancy to ensure the well-being of both mother and baby, we've teamed up with Vitamin Angels to enhance access to prenatal vitamins and minerals, and nutritional education for millions of pregnant women worldwide.
In the past four years, our efforts have had a positive effect on over 13 million women and their babies, leading to healthier pregnancies and births. By 2030, millions of lives will have changed for the better! 🌟
