Yes, the Pandemic Is Ruining Your Body Quarantine is turning you into a stiff, hunched-over, itchy, sore, headachy husk.
We find ourselves in unprecedented times. Social distance and self-isolation have shown us the importance of physical closeness, and the urgent need to recreate it in some form.
The Future of Dance Podcast, (Episode 10) guest, Ghislaine Boddington, is here to share more about her work. With a focus on collective embodiment, she envisions a unique future of an internet of bodies, bound by sensors and implants, tele-intuition, and dissolution of the boundaries between physical and virtual.
In the world we now find ourselves in, Ghislaine’s advocation for the entire body in the development of telepresence and virtual communications is more relevant than ever. She is an award-winning speaker, curator, and director, specialising in the future human, body responsive technologies and immersive experiences.

Happy International Dance Day 💙
Dance is not about learning steps, a style or technique. Dance is any movement the body chooses to make, a physical expression that words cannot express. For all human beings, dance is a way to learn and communicate. As babies we relate to our caregivers through movement and physical contact. As children we continue to learn through movement. All movement is dance; our physical connection to others and non-verbal communication - a life long dance with the world.
The body contributes far more to our lives than just physical attributes such as strength and endurance - it plays a major role in emotions, learning and relationships. The body is intimately involved in all our thought processes, understanding, emotions and decision making.
International Dance Day is not about celebrating those who are considered good dancers.
It’s about celebrating the fact that we all have the ability to express ourselves through movement each and everyday. No matter what it looks like it.
Embrace your dance and Dance As You Are!
On this day I hope you dance and also take a moment to support the redefinition of dance in the English dictionary.

We are BIG believers in family dance parties 😃
The power of family dance parties when the world is falling apart Most popular psychology today tells us to battle stress with calculated calm and solitude. But sometimes, we just need to dance.
"Interoception can enhance the depth of our own emotions, emotionally bind us to those around us, and guide our intuitive instincts."
In times like these, it's important that we listen to our own internal emotions in order to be there for others.
An interesting articles that affirms the practise of body awareness and creating space for inner curiosity.

Is "die for it" really a smart message to send students? Like so many dancers, I had grown up on stories of extreme perseverance, like the one about Anna Pavlova who had pneumonia and was told that she'd never be able to dance again if she had the surgery to fix it. My ballet master told me that Pavlova chose dance, saying, "If I can't dance, I'd rather b...

Yup, Dance Is The Best Workout. Science Says So. We already know that dancing is basically the greatest thing you could do for yourself. do you feel disconnected

I've lived with that nagging sense of things being not quite right. I've felt the restlessness of wanting more from life, without knowing exactly what I was looking for.
At times I'd catch glimpses of feeling connected; an inner moment of feeling in touch with something deeper within myself. But the experiences were fleeting.
Looking back, I can easily recognize the clues that I was disconnected from my body and self.

t͏h͏a͏t you could be ͏d͏i͏s͏c͏o͏n͏n͏e͏c͏t͏e͏d:
♥You often feel overwhelmed by your emotions.
♥You have a sense of emptiness inside.
♥You feel out of touch with others.
♥You feel a lack of meaning or purpose.
♥You consistently feel uncertain of yourself.
If these sound familiar, the good news is that it's possible (and simpler than you think) to reconnect with your body and self, starting now. With two beginning steps:
ᔕTEᑭ 1: In fact, noticing these five clues in your own life is the first step. Awareness is powerful. While it's common to get caught up in stress or become emotionally overwhelmed, bringing awareness to your inner world can give you perspective.
ᔕTEᑭ 2: Being aware means noticing and being curious about your experiences, without trying to change or resist them. Awareness allows you to pause and get present with your body and self in the moment.
