I’m often asked what inspires my paintings ...
Who says all greens don’t go together?
Early Spring, 36x36, acrylic
Large abstract in progress. Layers of oil and wax with more to come.
In a good spot. Encaustic, 24x30
“Town Life”, oil and cold wax, 2 panels of 30x24
Laid down an acrylic base. More texture to come with Cold Wax. 24x48 on panel
Winter Redbirds
The Confluence, oil and cold wax, 36x36. Step 5 of the abstract progression. I’ve learned a lot about color from this one.
Progressing. Adding cold wax.
Step three of the ever evolving abstract. Sorry about that for those who liked step 1 or 2. Sometimes a color leads you off into another direction. More to come.
Doing more work on this large encaustic/cold wax/oil painting. More texture and glazing.
Step two. Covering up some areas and uncovering others. It always happens that you lose some parts you like, but happy accidents also happen that make the painting much better.
Working on this large abstract. More layers to go!
Pair of 16x12 abstracts
Art always makes a wonderful Christmas gift. We have lots to choose from at Chrysalis, 1401 Williams St. next to Southside Antiques.
