Episode #2: How to make BBQ Ribs
In this episode we walk through the process of making tender smoked ribs using the 3-2-1 method. We will walk you through the step-by-step process and will also show you how we make our own custom rub and BBQ sauce.
Process:
1. You can use Baby Back or Spare Ribs (They are both great and spare ribs are a little less expensive)
2. Remove the membrane from the ribs using a paper towel for grip
3. Generously apply your rub on both sides (Ingredients below)
4. Set your smoker temperature to 225 degrees and bring up to temp
5. Place your ribs into the smoker unwrapped
6. Smoke at 225 for 3 hours
7. Remove from smoker after 3 hours
8. Using heavy duty and wide tinfoil, tear off two sheets and place them on top of each other
9. Put your tinfoil ingredients (Ingredients below) in the middle-ish of your tinfoil
10. Place your rack of rib meat side down on the tinfoil ingredients
11. Wrap your rib and use extra tinfoil if needed to completely enclose the rib
12. Place the wrapped rib(s) into the smoker still set at 225 degrees
13. After 2 hours, pull the wrapped ribs off the smoker
14. Unwrap the ribs and pour the juice into a bowl
15. Use your favorite BBQ sauce and mix into the bowl of juice until completely mixed together
16. Apply your mixed sauce onto the ribs (this can get messy)
17. Place the ribs back into the smoker still set at 225 degrees for 1 hour or longer until your liking
18. Pull the ribs off the smoker after 1+ hour(s)
19. The best part, taste test!
We hope you enjoyed this episode! If so, please give us a follow, a like and share with others!
Rub Ingredients (Per rack of ribs)
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of pineapple powder

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of ground mustard
1 teaspoon of basil
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Tinfoil Ingredients
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup apple juice (any kind)
1/2 stick of butter (any kind)
A healthy dose of honey (any amount/kind)
BBQ Sauce
After the ribs have cooked for 2 hours in the tinfoil, dump the liquid from the tinfoil into a bowl and mix in 1-2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce. Stir until the BBQ sauce and juices are completely mixed together
